Perform database engineering and administration activities such as installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, backup, security, troubleshooting, documentation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Emphasizes the importance of staying current on databases and industry trends. Key ResponsibilitiesDatabase Management: Assisting with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of databases.Cloud Portals: Usages of public cloud hyperscale portal for database operations.Basic usages of automation tools and scripting (Python/PowerShell/Ansible/Shell Scripts/TSQL/PLSQL) and cloud native tools like terraforms, Git/GitHub.Monitoring: Monitoring database performance, finding and addressing bottlenecks.Backup and Recovery: Assisting in implementing and testing regular backups of databases, as well as participating in database recovery processes in the event of failures or disasters.Security Management: Assisting in implementing and maintaining database security, including managing user access, permissions, and roles to ensure data confidentiality and integrity.Documentation: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure effective knowledge transfer and compliance with organizational standards.Collaboration: Collaborating with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to support database-related initiatives and projects.Continuous Learning: Staying informed about the latest database developments, best practices, and industry trends to continuously improve your skills and knowledge in database administration.Participate in rotational shifts/24X7 production support for database server infrastructure along with members of the other database services teams. Knowledgethe knowledge required may encompass a combination of academic learning, certifications, and practical skills. Here are some essential areas of knowledge for a DBA fresher:Understanding of Relational Databases: A strong grasp of relational database concepts, normalization, ACID properties and the principles of data organization and storage.SQL Fundamentals: Knowledge in writing and understanding SQL queries, data manipulation (DML) and data definition (DDL) statements, as well as a basic understanding of joins, Indexes and procedures.Knowledge of public cloud platforms and databases available on Public Cloud.Knowledge of Cloud Databases on PAAS and IAAS platforms.Understanding of different databases flavors like relations and non-relational like document DB/Graph databases/Key-value pair databases.Database Design: Knowledge of database design principles such as entity-relationship modeling, creating schemas, and understanding the importance of structured database design.Data Backup and Recovery: Understanding the significance of data backup strategies, recovery models, and basic concepts related to restoring databases from backups.Database Security: Fundamentals of database security, including user authentication, authorization, and permissions management to safeguard data integrity and confidentiality.? HA&DR: Knowledge on High Availability and Disaster Recovery concepts and understanding the significance of RTO and RPO.We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
