The Opportunity:

As a Director within KPMG’s Auckland Consulting practice, you’ll be at the forefront of supporting our clients to deliver complex change across a range of industry sectors including financial services, the public sector, and corporate clients such as utilities and retailers.
  • We are looking for an individual with proven expertise in shaping, selling and leading the delivery of functional solutions that cover operating model design, performance improvement, organisational change and service design – often at the intersection of process and technology.
  • This role will also provide opportunities to work closely with colleagues in Australia, Singapore and the Philippines as well as the wider international KPMG network.

Day to Day You Will

  • Provide leadership over business development efforts for consulting services in the Auckland market.
  • Design and deliver complex change engagements and other services which harness KPMG’s experience and expertise in the delivery of functional solutions including but not limited to, operating model design, performance improvement, organisational change and service design – often at the intersection of process and technology.
  • Manage client expectations with confidence—negotiating scope, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Drive excellent stakeholder engagement and support clients to execute large-scale change.
  • Develop and oversee project plans, including terms of reference and risk identification.
  • Direct engagements to meet quality, budget, and timeline requirements.
  • Identify new opportunities to grow and differentiate our Consulting services offering.
  • Coach, inspire, and develop consulting staff through hands-on leadership.
  • Contribute to the design and marketing of new service offerings and solutions.
  • Build strong, trusted client relationships across government.
  •  Seek and leverage feedback to ensure consistently exceptional client experiences.

About You:

  • Minimum of 10 years of senior consulting experience across functional domains including operating model design, performance improvement, organisational change and service design.
  • Proven experience of selling and delivering projects which harness technology and digital enablement to support delivery of high impact outcomes to clients.
  • A strong track record in business development and practice growth.
  • Proven success in leading teams, mentoring talent, and building capability.
  • Exceptional programme management, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated success delivering advisory engagements and complex change.
  • A collaborative working style and the ability to build relationships across diverse teams.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Experience working with or within government agencies.
  • A positive, pragmatic, “can-do” attitude with a genuine sense of ownership.
