Provides technical consultation and direction for large, complex, multi-cloud pursuits in the Enterprise space requiring cross functional collaboration. Provides input into defining and setting technical goals and objectives for pursuits that align with the overall Rackspace competitive strategy. Drives cross-functional collaboration to give potential customers a seamless experience across Rackspace through sales, implementation and onboarding, and support hand-off. Serves as a recognized technical and industry thought leader with broad measured experience across the IT, managed services, and cloud industries with the purpose of developing strategy and influencing customer executives and visionaries.

Key Responsibilities

    • Partners with Enterprise Sellers to oversee, lead, and/or contribute to strategic pursuits for large, multi-cloud, enterprise customers from identification through implementation and full customer support.
    • Lead facilitation of group white-boarding sessions to articulate Rackspace solutions, cloud technologies, industry trends, transformation methodologies, and overall stimulate the customer about the concept of adopting a managed services model with Rackspace.
    • Influences customer executives, customer decision making process, and achieves Trusted Advisor status among targeted strategic pursuit and key growth accounts.
    • Helps create strategic plans to grow the Rackspace business by aligning with Rackspace Sales needs and territory demands to practical solutions
    • Gathers and collaborates with internal resources so that consistent, aligned solutions are presented to potential customers.
    • Drives accountability and timely production of deliverables.
    • Develops processes to drive early identification and resolution of issues.
    • Presents to C Level decision makers in customer organizations.
    • Continuously keeps abreast of evolving technologies, emerging industry trends, developing Rackspace product & solutions, and demands of the enterprise consumer.
    • Interfaces with internal teams by working with new product initiatives to ensure completeness and relevance to customer requirements.
    • Evangelizes Rackspace Professional Services’ thought leadership at speaking engagements for conferences, industry, and marketing events including contribution to social media forums, authoring of white papers, and blogging.
    • Mentors extended Rackspace sales and technical teams in regards to mature sales methodologies and technical solution specifications.
    • Conducts analysis of each pursuit and develops best practices; knowledge shares with stakeholders in the technical sales, support and strategic pursuit.
    • Responsible for adhering to company security policies and procedure as directed.

    • Uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.
    • Drives cross-functional collaboration to give potential customers a seamless experience across Rackspace through sales, implementation and onboarding, and Account Management hand-off.
    • Gathers and collaborates with internal resources (Specialist Sellers, Portfolio Architects, Specialized Architects, Pro Serv) so that consistent, aligned solutions are presented to potential customers.
    • Builds and manages relationships with senior client leaders at assigned accounts to influence the client’s strategic and purchasing decisions
    • Networks with key stakeholders and executives external to the specialty area.
    • Conducts analysis of pursuits and develop best practices.
    • Share knowledge with stakeholders in product, support, and sales organization.
    • Influence the sales process through leadership consultation and real world examples.

    • Business knowledge to understand customer needs and strategy and apply the value of Rackspace solutions to their specific situation.
    • Must have the experience and business savvy necessary to interact directly with CTO, CIO, VP and other senior roles within the customer organization.
    • Expert knowledge of business operations across various industries.
    • Mastery in various computing technologies.
    • Experience with common as-a-Service offerings with various service providers across various solution stacks (infrastructure, platform, software).
    • Strong knowledge of IT Service Management and Service Delivery, ITIL certification preferred.
    • Expert knowledge of data center strategy, capacity, utilization, disaster recovery, and migration & consolidation and best practices.
    • Strong infrastructure experience such as virtualization technologies, operating systems, platform migration, data management, networking, facilities, and operational facilities.
    • Organization, communications (including presentation skills, diplomacy, and influencing), process thinking, directing work through others, initiative, building relationships and trust, and consensus building.
    • Effective presentation skills with the capacity to articulate value to varying customer audiences (administrators to executives).
    • Knowledge of industry metrics and how to positively impact those figures by identifying them in customer and market interactions.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills. Highly motivated self-starter and team player.
    • Strong consultative selling acumen and demonstrated success in prior roles.
