Internal Communications Manager (Remote - US)

Responsible for developing and implementing a strategic internal communications plan & associated content strategy for one of our two organizational Business Units, working directly with senior leadership and the Employee Experience Director to support Business Unit goals and objectives, directly aligning with the global employee experience plan, global operating strategy, mission, vision and values.

Key Responsibilities

    • Establishes and maintains a communications strategy specific to assigned business unit.
    • Works with leaders to create and shape key messages and communications campaigns ensuring consistent deliverables across these groups as well as to Rackspace.
    • Develops, writes, edits and produces communications for internal audiences.
    • Determines appropriate communications outlets and styles to deliver messages based on the target audience.
    • Develops, cultivates and maintains internal communications channels including intranet, newsletters, all-hands meetings.
    • Coordinates internal communication events.
    • Collaborates with employees to establish consistent communications messages and strategies.

Knowledge

    • Advanced knowledge of communications principles and practices, and knowledge of the company's products and solutions.
    • Excellent time management, decision-making, interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills.
    • Individual must have experience executing high-impact communications strategies and programs; excellent written (including technical writing) and oral communications skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise deliverables.
    • Must be able to handle multiple tasks/deadlines and be detail and deadline-oriented.
    • Must have the experience and ability to handle crisis communications plans, writing and execution.
    • Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and partner with multiple teams and functions.
    • Demonstrated ability to consistently provide FANATICAL support.

Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications or related field required.
    • At least 5-8 years of progressively responsible experience in corporate communications, including extensive experience resolving internal communications challenges required.
    • Demonstrated experience in independently developing and leading significant communications campaigns
    • Location in Central or Eastern time zone due to the global nature of this role preferred.
    • Travel up to 25%.
$75,800 - $129,580 a yearThe following information is required by pay transparency legislation in the following states: CA, CO, HI, NY, and WA. This information applies only to individuals working in these states. • The anticipated starting pay range of Colorado applicants for this role is: $75,800 - $111,210• The anticipated starting pay range for the states of Hawaii and New York (not including NYC) is: $80,700 - $118,360• The anticipated starting pay range of California, Washington state and New York City applicants for this role is: $88,400 - $129,580Unless already included in the posted pay range and based on eligibility, the role may include variable compensation in the form of bonus, commissions, or other discretionary payments. These discretionary payments are based on company and/or individual performance and may change at any time. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
