You will collaborate with suppliers, internal team members and business partners to review and manage critical suppliers, conduct risk assessments, complete due diligence, and lead ongoing monitoring and governance of our supplier base. If you're passionate about establishing strategic relationships that will contribute significantly to the overall success of Atlassian, building trust between Atlassian and our customers, and leading change, then this role is for you. As a Supplier Relationship Manager you will be responsible for the holistic relationship between Atlassian and key third parties, enabling a well-managed and adaptable supplier network. This role is essential in the management of key risk and performance governance related efforts for third-party supplier relationships, in addition to identifying strategic opportunities for growth and/or greater return on investment. This role requires an ability and interest in establishing and building relationships, implementing strategies that increase the value between Atlassian and our service providers, and leading the design and build out of a global program. This is an individual contributor role with cross functional opportunities to enable Atlassian’s procurement organization to scale to support the company's growing needs.
In this role, you'll get to:
- Facilitate supplier due diligence and risk assessment processes and workflow.
- Partner with Privacy, Compliance and Risk, IT, Security, Legal, Sustainability/DEI and business owners for ongoing supplier management in support of best practices, privacy, and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to transformation and enhancement of Atlassian third-party risk management capabilities across a broader range of risk exposures, going deeper into the due diligence, and continuous risk monitoring of suppliers throughout the supplier life cycle.
- Manage the day to day supplier relationship and risk management processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with business owners to assist them in effectively managing supplier relationships and performance to contract.
- Lead training initiatives with Atlassian employees for supplier management processes.
- Manage procurement compliance on a global basis in conjunction with Internal Audit, Risk & Compliance, Legal, and Finance to increase compliance agility, speed & transparency to regulations.
- Identify, define, and lead the delivery of initiatives focused on process and operational improvements, collaborating across the global procurement organization and with other departments, including Finance, Tax, IT, HR, and Legal in a ever changing and fast paced environment.
- Identify opportunities related to supplier optimization, consolidation and improvements across the supply base.
On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
- 3-5 years experience in supplier risk assessment and mitigation as well as supplier relationship governance and performance management
- Experience in procurement related risk assessment, with a focus on SaaS preferred
- Extraordinary relationship building skills that include global experience working with and influencing business partners, team members, business leaders and supplier executives
- Ability to design and operate with demonstrated experience leading and executing policy, processes, and system improvements related to more effective supplier management.
- Innovative problem solving and strategic thinking skills, along with strong business insight and analytical capabilities with an ability to understand, translate and qualify business cases for successful supplier relationships
- Be a trusted partner and see the big picture with a clear ability to inspire change, manage conflict, bring together disparate points of view, make decisions, gain buy-in, and build consensus to deliver on objectives.
- A continuous improvement mindset with proven success identifying and executing opportunities that streamline process.
- Understanding of procurement elements and functions: Supplier Management, Sourcing, Negotiations, Contracting, Risk Management and Procurement Best Practices.
- Demonstrated successes leading operational improvements, organizational change and project management.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to present business and technical issues, ideas, and recommendations clearly in verbal, written and presentation formats to a variety of partners.
- Familiarity with risk elements of dealing with 3rd parties inherent and residual risk.
- Experience with procurement tools. (Coupa is a plus)
- Experience managing interactions with suppliers and wide range of stakeholders (Business Owners, Risk & Compliance, Privacy, Security, IT, Sourcing, Contract Management, Legal).
- Strong analytic ability, with demonstrated success analyzing processes and data to identify areas for improving efficiency.
- A proven ability to work independently with strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
- A clear ability to inspire change, handle conflict, bring together disparate points of view, make decisions, and build consensus to deliver on objectives
- A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Finance, Legal, or 10+ years in the related field
- Demonstrated knowledge of procurement policies, processes, and tools.
