Job Profile SummarySupports the Legal Organization in all areas of the business by managing processes and programs. Drafts and negotiates contract clauses, conducts legal research and prepares memoranda, guidelines, training, educational materials and other written product in areas of commercial transactions, litigation, employment law and corporate law. Interacts directly with internal and external stakeholders. Responsible for adhering to company security policies and procedures and any other relevant policies and standards as directed.This role is a hybrid role and will be onsite at our office at I-35/Walzem 2-3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

    • Other Incidental tasks related to the job, as necessary.
    • Assists attorneys and legal team with completing standard agreements and contracts
    • Provides support on other types of contract review, including service contracts and vendor agreements
    • Provides initial legal response and front-line support to routine contract requests, working with stakeholders to ensure all required terms are included in contract and that the contract is ultimately completed
    • Owns tracking, management, and execution of assigned RackLaw tickets
    • Provides project management for portions of or small Legal projects and initiatives
    • Reviews, documents, owns, performs, and tracks administration and operational activities
    • Provides support for legal negotiations
    • Supports commercial or other litigation as assigned
    • Identifies, analyzes, researches, and resolves routine legal and business process issues and makes appropriate recommendations
    • Reviews requests, assesses the level of risk in work requests, and actions or routes appropriately
    • Assists in the maintenance of corporate record books and drafting of corporate documents
    • Updates shared drives and document sharing systems with all changes and documents
    • Ensures compliance with the document retention program
    • Supports the collection of documents to respond to subpoenas or other government requests
    • Supports the tracking and preparation of regulatory filings
    • Other incidental assignments related to the position

Knowledge

    • Intermediate knowledge of all aspects of company standard contracts and agreements
    • Intermediate knowledge of legal terminology and compliance processes
    • Intermediate knowledge of Records Retention statutes, policies, and management systems
    • Requires expanded conceptual knowledge in own job discipline and broadens capabilities
    • Understands key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work

    • Demonstrated intermediate research skills
    • Growing ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate technical and compliance information with a wide range of individuals
    • Ability to recognize and analyze intermediate legal issues and understand business requirements
    • Intermediate communication skills, verbal and written; and demonstrated ability to effectively interface with colleagues and clients
    • Intermediate writing/drafting skills
    • Intermediate skills in use of legal reference materials, including electronic resources
    • Demonstrated skill in MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
    • Strong time management skills and demonstrated skills in tracking and executing against deadlines
    • Able to handle multiple simultaneous and complex tasks and projects effectively and efficiently

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree from and accredited institution
    • At the manager’s discretion, additional relevant work experience, along with a High School Diploma, A Levels, or equivalency, may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis
    • Paralegal or other legal specialist certification preferred
    • 2 - 4 years of experience in the field of role
    • Relevant experience, building capability to perform the role at the expected level
    • Experience utilizing judgment and learned knowledge to plan and accomplish goals
    • Experience drafting, evaluating, and editing content, structure, and format of written materials, including contracts and other legal documents
    • PreferredExperience working in a fast-paced corporate legal environment
