SECURITY ENGINEER (ENDPOINT TOOLS)
SpaceX is looking for a Security Engineer to join the Information Security Engineering team to help protect and drive the SpaceX mission. Information drives our business and we must protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and processes across the enterprise. As a highly visible and dynamic organization, we must also value and guard against damage to our reputation and brand. Finally, it is paramount that we defend against loss of control or confidence in our systems, to guarantee the highest probability of success. This role will focus on the tools and systems that live on, and protect, our endpoints at SpaceX. This role will require interfacing with our IT teams, user community, and internal security partners to ensure that we provide the best possible protection while also addressing the various needs and concerns of the enterprise.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
<ul>
<li>Design, build, and maintain technology solutions and systems that provide Security for SpaceX systems, networks, users, and data. This can include:
<ul>
<li>Antivirus (AV) Products</li>
<li>Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) Products</li>
<li>Network and host-based Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools and services.</li>
<li>Privilege Escalation Technologies (e.g. UAC, LAPS, etc)</li>
<li>Client Logging Tools and Configuration (e.g. AuditD, NXLog, etc)</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for those solutions, maintaining documentation and advising others on their underlying technology and operation</li>
<li>Work with Security and IT teams to identify threats and problem areas, using that feedback to further strengthen tools and technologies. This should materialize as improvements that decrease malicious activity and time to remediation</li>
<li>Interface with Windows, Linux, and Mac systems teams to test and manage security technologies</li>
<li>Create solutions that are scalable, repeatable, maintainable and secure</li>
</ul>
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in information systems, information security, computer science, engineering and 4+ years of security experience; OR 6+ years of information security experience in lieu of a degree</li>
<li>2+ years of experience designing, building, implementing, and/or maintaining endpoint security tools such as antivirus, host-based intrusion detection systems, privilege escalation technologies, data loss prevention, client logging tools, etc. in an enterprise level environment </li>
<li>Experience with Linux, Windows, and Mac system internals and configuration management tools</li>
<li>Experience with a programming or scripting language, such as C#, Python, or PowerShell</li>
</ul>
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
<ul>
<li>Familiarity with endpoint security tools, their offerings, and interoperability</li>
<li>An understanding of how endpoint security tools work at a fundamental level as well as potential security issues that come with different implementations</li>
<li>Ability to interface with vendors to diagnose and troubleshoot problems, as well as consult on architectural design and configuration changes</li>
<li>Experience automating work-flows and streamlining processes in the security space</li>
<li>Track record of rolling out and maintaining security tools in an enterprise environment</li>
<li>Ability to operate in a dynamic, evolving environment</li>
</ul>

RESPONSIBILITIES:

<li>Be a hands-on leader in the creation and execution of the detection engineering infrastructure </li>
<li>Develop a visibility layer related to the detection pipeline which supports debugging and investigating anomalies in our environment</li>
<li>Integrate an orchestration system for automated triage and response</li>
<li>Build pipelines and APIs to enrich logs and alert results to provide a comprehensive view for security analysts</li>
<li>Define and maintain the roadmap of program and technology changes being driven by the information security organization</li>
<li>Manage detection engineering projects, including process improvement and technology investment</li>
<li>Own SpaceX's logging and endpoint security tooling to provide critical data to security analysts</li>
</ul>
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
<ul>
<li>5+ years of information security experience related to security operations engineering and infrastructure with a Bachelor's degree in information technology, information security, computer science; OR 7+ years of of information security experience related to security operations engineering and infrastructure in lieu of a degree</li>
<li>2+ years experience with a programming or scripting language such as Python or PowerShell</li>
</ul>
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

<li>Building custom systems that allow for easy analysis of system telemetry in a codified and automated fashion</li>
<li>Experience in designing and building complex SIEM workflows (preferably with Splunk)</li>

PRINCIPAL SECURITY ENGINEER
SpaceX is hiring a principal security engineer to join the security engineering team to help protect and drive the SpaceX mission. Our engineers are responsible for building innovative security solutions to protect against threats to our rockets, spacecraft, and our global satellite internet constellation, Starlink.  As a highly visible and dynamic organization, we must value and guard against damage to our internal information, our physical hardware, and our reputation and brand. Finally, it is paramount that we defend against loss of control or confidence in our systems, to guarantee the highest probability of success.
As a Security Engineer, you will focus on the "behind the scenes" technologies that ensure our networks and systems are up to industry and SpaceX standards. You will be responsible for providing high-criticality and high-risk services, with the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of those services in mind. This role will partner with various application development and customer groups across SpaceX to ensure that the technologies and systems we build in-house or purchase and deploy in-house are designed and maintained in a secure way that minimizes risk.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, build, and maintain technology solutions and systems that provide security for SpaceX systems, networks, and data. This can include:
<ul>
<li>Authentication and Identity Services, including Muti-Factor solutions, Network Access Control identity servers, and related authentication and authorization technologies.</li>
<li>Identity lifecycle management services and automation. Build and maintain scripts and automation that support the information security mission across SpaceX, to be utilized by information security teammates and other partner organizations.</li>
<li>Network security systems and the backend infrastructure that powers such services.</li>
<li>Application level security controls (e.g. Web Application Firewalls).</li>
<li>Cloud deployments security policy enforcement, centralized configuration management, monitoring, etc.</li>
<li>Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for those solutions, maintaining documentation on them and advising others on their underlying technologies and operation.</li>
<li>Work with security and IT teams to identify threats and problem areas, using that feedback to further strengthen tools and technologies. Materialize this as improvements which result in stronger and safer software and application deployments across SpaceX, measuring in decreased risk and prevalence of issues.</li>
<li>Create solutions that are scalable, repeatable, maintainable, and secure.</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with other teams, including individuals in information security, physical security, information technology, human resources, legal, software, and others.</li>

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

<li>Bachelor’s degree in information systems, information security, computer science, engineering or equivalent technical field of study and 6+ years of information security, networking and/or systems administration experience; OR 8+ years of information security experience without a degree.</li>
