You will lead a talented group of software engineers, driving the development of cutting-edge software solutions for over the air software updates on the Lucid Air. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable software solutions, while continuously improving development processes and fostering the growth of our engineering team.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and support throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, quality assurance, and hardware engineering, to drive software development projects from concept to completion.
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of software solutions for over the air software updates on the Lucid Air.
- Ensure adherence to software development best practices, including coding standards, documentation, version control, and code reviews.
- Drive continuous improvement of development processes and tools, optimizing efficiency and quality.
- Stay up to date with the latest technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to software development for embedded Linux devices.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on algorithms, data structures, C language, POSIX, Linux, networking, and network programming.
- Demonstrate a hands-on approach by actively participating in software development activities, including coding, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with the testing team to define and implement comprehensive testing strategies, including unit testing, integration testing, and system testing.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and scalable software solutions that meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Support the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, actively contributing to the growth and development of the software engineering team.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering
- 12+ years related experience
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or a similar leadership role in a software development environment.
- Strong technical background with expertise in algorithms, data structures, C language, POSIX, Linux, networking, and network programming.
- Proficient in software development methodologies and processes, including the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
- Hands-on experience with embedded Linux devices and BSP (Board Support Package) development is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering
- 8 years related experience.
- Knowledge of automotive embedded Linux development is a plus.
- Knowledge of UDS, DoIP, and Vehicle Diagnostics is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
· California (Bay Area) - $165,000 - $215,000 Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.
