Join us.The Practice Manager is responsible for technical leadership and personnel management of a service delivery practice area within one of the consulting services divisions.  The Practice Manager ensures that appropriate delivery methodologies are being utilized and provides delivery quality oversight from a technical and leadership perspective for a given client engagement. This includes acting as the primary escalation point for the engagement, being responsible for the financial health of an engagement, and collaborating with sales teams and other services practices when needed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Sales Support Subject Matter Expertise
    • Contribute to the presales content for all offerings relevant to their practice, in collaboration with Practice Directors, Principals, Tech Managers, Marketing, and Demand
    • Work with Practice Directors, Enterprise Resource Management, and other leadership team members to review staffing assignments and assist in staffing decisions for engagements
    • Work with consultants to ensure staffing decisions take their goals and desires into account, pair up resources as required, and provide support and mentorship throughout an engagement
    • Work with Consultants, Project Managers, and Sales to ensure that all scoped work is delivered on or under budget. Act as the primary A&E escalation point for an assigned project. Help consultants to craft appropriate materials for client meetings/presentations. In addition to internal methodologies and checklists - ensure resources and materials leveraged by the consultants are current and accurate.
    • Provide comprehensive review of project deliverables to ensure content is appropriate and address the requirements of the project as defined in the statement of work and as desired by the customer.
    • As both a leader/mentor and as a billable resource – participate in customer engagements to ensure standards for technical execution are being adhered to and less seasoned consultants are being groomed for success within their role, including consulting resources that do not directly report to you.
    • Identify additional service opportunities throughout the course of the engagement.
    • Active client engagement participation alongside other Optiv Services team members, including: Kick-off Calls, onsite presentations, first day of onsite work for meet & greet, close-out calls, deliverable review, final presentations, etc.
    • Management of a team of consultants; developing team members by giving opportunities, providing timely feedback, and communicating expectations.
    • Work with consultants on annual training goals and planning to enhance the skill set required for their role.
    • Ensure consultant bench time is properly utilized for meeting necessary skills improvement.
    • Track consultant performance for ongoing performance reviews.
    • Perform semi-annual performance reviews with consultants reporting to you to review strengths, weaknesses, and address career path goals, practice initiatives, and training requirements.
    • Assist in identifying and qualifying potential candidates to join the team.
    • Assist in defining appropriate job descriptions and requirements for current and potential candidates.
    • Ensure that all business processes (Timesheets, Expense Reports, etc) are completed in a timely manner.
    • Participate in initiatives around documentation and template development and improvement
    • Active participation in new offering development
    • Collaboration across practice areas to improve project delivery quality
    • Participate in vendor partner discussions, coordination with internal team members (Consultants, Sales, Demand, etc), and promotion of vendor partner initiatives
    • Participate in budgeting and financial planning

Qualifications and Experience:

    • 3+ years’ experience as an IT Security Consultant
    • 3+ years’ experience technical, deployment experience with modern SIEM/UEBA technologies (Splunk, Exabeam, Securonix, Sentinel, QRadar, LogRhythm, etc)
    • 3+ years’ experience managing professional services teams in a high growth company
    • 5+ years IT Security experience
    • 5+ years’ experience working with regulatory requirements and/or frameworks (e.g. HIPAA/HITECH, FISMA (NIST), MITRE ATT&CK, GDPR, PCI, etc)
    • Ability to travel up to 10-30 percent of the time
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • BS/BBA Preferred but not required
    • CISSP certification a plus
