This position requires an experienced professional who will be responsible for the team of engineers who will develop and deliver feature requirements and validation plans of one or more electronic control units (ECU). Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. The Role
- Lead a team of Body Control engineers to design core software for Body Controls;
- Responsible for meeting program deliverable and schedules for body control features;
- Work with program managers to assign and track tasks and ensure their completion;
- Collaborate with internal and external cross functional teams, to define and validate the software for various body relevant products;
- Ensure that the software development process is being followed by the team so Software quality is not impacted;
- Work with the rest of the controls teams to synergistically ensure standards are met;
- Work with Systems Engineers and Hardware Engineers to identify and develop new hardware concepts and software control strategies for new feature development;
- Own the agile development process for ECU software/firmware using industry standard tools
- Manage the model-based software release process;
- Support hardware engineering and their efforts of development, bring-up, design validation and troubleshooting of ECU printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA)
- Work closely with platform/low level software engineers to integrate application code with the systems/platform software, to execute shared workflows, to support bring-up and test of PCBAs
- Manage ECU configurations in relation to the vehicle program
- Define and execute a development plan collaboratively with cross-functional teams, hardware, controls and platform software, manufacturing and service as well as program management to deliver mature products.
You Bring
- Experience as a manager/lead engineer for embedded products;
- Ownership experience of the entire product life cycle through production delivery on at least two distinct devices/systems;
- Experience of how ISO 26262 is driving requirements and designs of automotive systems;
- Electrical engineering skills related to electronic devices, mechatronics, sensors / actuators;
- Exposure to the development of control systems including the processes and workflows, tools and testing approaches necessary to ship the product;
- Experience with network communication analysis tools such as CANoe/CANalyzer,PCAN etc.
Advantageous: - Knowledge of product safety concepts
- Proficiency with Jama, Jira/Confluence
- Good organizational skills
Education Requirements: - At least 10 years of experience as a body controls engineer, with at least 3 years as a manager.
- BS degree in electrical, computer, mechanical or other appropriate engineering discipline. Masters degree preferred.
