Barbaricum seeks a Cyber Threat Analyst to provide services to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) program. This Analyst will work as part of a team to operationalize OSINT for DHS. This activity will inform and implement national security initiatives through providing comprehensive technology-enabled OSINT-derived indications and warning and expert analysis.
Responsibilities
- Identify emerging operations and trends based upon extensive research into information threat activity and determine pertinent communications, countermeasures, and recommendations for decision makers.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and deploy data sources, systems, and tools that can support the investigations workflow
- Support technical and operational work for DHS with the attribution and identification of foreign malicious actors and transnational criminal organizations and infrastructure
- Experience with open-source Cyber Threat Reporting
- Ability to analyze network traffic data for anomalous or malicious content with tools
- Track advanced persistent threats (APT) and their tools, techniques, and procedures (TTPs)
- Produce intelligence-driven deliverables to brief stakeholders on any relevant tactical and strategic developments that could impact the client’s interests
- Understand the current threat landscape including the implications of geopolitical events
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 7+ years of intelligence focused focused experience
- Prior experience with the development of novel, automated, or simpler processes for regular research and analysis
- Demonstrable experience researching and analyzing cyber threats globally
- Strong knowledge related to the current cyber threats facing US Government interests and be knowledgeable of key adversary TTPs and motivations
- Prior experience with logging, correlation, and enrichment techniques from a variety of sources
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual (One of the following: Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Arabic, Farsi, or Portuguese)
- Security Clearance (Secret or TS/SCI)
- Prior Support to DHS or DoD supporting dynamic real-world missions
