The impact you will have:

This role is a great opportunity to contribute to the research which powers all of Elliptic’s cutting-edge products. You will play a key role in identifying new crypto actors using methods including dark web research, open source investigations, and blockchain analysis.

You will also create client-facing research as well as marketing content. Previous Elliptic research has been featured in The Times, Wall Street Journal, Reuters, CNN, Forbes, and BBC News, amongst others.

What you will do:

• Perform open source and darknet research to develop a deep understanding of emerging criminal use-cases for cryptoassets, and the cybercrime ecosystem more broadly, including ransomware, fraud, darknet markets and mixers.
• Ensure that we are aware of the full spectrum of criminal actors engaged in illicit use of cryptoassets, and their relative importance.
• Collaborate with the data team to ensure that new actors are incorporated into our dataset.
• Use Elliptic’s cryptoasset investigation tools to perform forensic analyses of cryptoasset transactions.
• Conduct collaborative research with external partners.
• Create regular crypto crime updates for internal and external audiences.
• Contribute to blogs, research reports and other marketing materials.

Requirements

You will be a great fit here if you:

• Have a demonstrable interest/experience in cryptocurrencies and blockchains
• Are a self-starter and a self-directed team player, with analytical and research skills
• Can prioritise work and focus on what you think will bring the most value

Our ideal candidate has:

• 1+ years experience in the crypto industry or a similar field, including open source research, intelligence analysis or threat intelligence
• Highly-developed research and analytical skills including the ability to distil complex concepts and data into concise explanations
• A passion for the world of crypto
