We are collaborative - we love working with each other and cheer on our teammates in all endeavours.Your focus will be to support our commercial business in the UK&I region (and where needed other countries). You will have lots of opportunity to work closely with other colleagues in EMEA and globally, both on the day job and on project work and you will gain hands-on experience drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements with Atlassian's enterprise customers. You will also have the chance to contribute to team projects and foster a positive remote team culture.
What you'll do:
- Be an active part of our growing Commercial Legal Team, which supports Atlassian's Enterprise Sales Team.
- Negotiate enterprise cloud and license agreements for Atlassian's products and services, including master services agreements.
- Build trusted relationships with our sales colleagues in the region, be curious about our company’s business priorities and proactive in suggesting solutions.
- Partner and collaborate with other teams, such as our privacy, risk and compliance, security, finance, accounting and products to facilitate contract reviews and internal process improvement, and enhancement of our customer-facing forms.
- Provide pragmatic, business-minded guidance on contract-related issues.
- Help create and improve support materials and provide trainings to educate our direct sales and channel teams on contract terms and other legal issues.
- Advise business and corporate functions in the region in close collaboration with our specialist teams in the U.S. and EMEA.
- Be open to new and innovative ways of working and adopt available technology in the delivery of legal support.
Your background:
- You like to work in a team and build relationships with sales teams (you did this already or you can explain efficiently how you’ll succeed doing so).
- You take ownership and accomplish tasks while obtaining appropriate support.
- You bring empathy and understanding to your conversations with customers and clients, creating a path forward that balances company risk and customer needs.
- You enjoy negotiating and closing deals in a collaborative spirit, and you don’t use a rigid approach.
- You ask questions about things you don't know.
- You enjoy working remotely and you enjoy taking up new responsibilities and in a multicultural team.
- You think creatively beyond the "legal" box to offer solutions for the business.
On your first day, we'll expect you to:
- Be a UK qualified lawyer or have equivalent legal qualification with 5-9 years PQE, and have experience supporting the UK market.
- Have experience handling b2b contract negotiations and have commercial acumen.
- Have experience discussing data protection topics, GDRP, UK GDPR.
- Have strong communication skills.
- Be curious about Atlassian's products, culture, and business model.
- Be enthusiastic to work in an international environment, learn and take on new responsibilities.
We appreciate as a plus:
- Experience in the SaaS space and tech.
- Experience with public sector customers or financial institutions.
