You will primarily be responsible for month-end and year-end close activities including balance sheet reconciliations, journals, and assisting with year-end audit deliverables and related day to day operations of the business. This role will serve as an consolidations manager on the general ledger team, acting as an individual contributor that will handle all areas around inter-company accounting, including eliminations, consolidations, helping close ledgers and reconciling these areas. This person will also be a point person for the greater team on inter-company and oracle related questions. More about you:You enjoy numbers and have 8-12 years experience in accounting roles in multinational companies and/or audit firms (preferably in a public company environment subject to SOX) and have had exposure to inter-company, consolidations, eliminations, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entry preparation and review and audit request preparation. You have a good understanding of US GAAP and IFRS, and are looking for a role as a individual contributor. We’d love for you to have experience using Oracle fusion, Blackline or other reconciliation tools, and have an intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel. Finally, you enjoy interacting with other departments/functions to ensure accurate and timely financial accounting.
Qualifications & Skills:
- CPA required
- 8+ years of work experience required
- 2-4 years of public accounting preferred (Big 4 accounting experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge base of Oracle Fusion required, with desire to help answer teams questions on this system
- Experience working on eliminations, consolidations, and intercompany in Oracle Fusion required
- Experience working in a multi-currency environment required.
- Extensive knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel required
- Experience in GL accounting including preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries, and experience assisting with quarterly/yearly audits preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability for self-review
- You are highly proactive, organized and have a very strong work ethic
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, while maintaining accuracy
- Ability to be available some evenings to meet with APAC team required
Responsibilities:
- Manage the inter-company accounting process across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of inter-company transactions including inter-company elimination, revaluation and consolidation.
- Develop and implement inter-company accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local regulations and optimize efficiency.
- Responsible for accounting and close activities for assigned areas including journal entry preparation, reconciliation preparation, and fluctuation analysis.
- Collaborate cross functionally with the finance organization, including the controllership, corporate accounting, corporate FP&A, equity administration, investor relations, treasury and tax teams, to provide guidance and support on inter-company matters.
- Work directly with internal and external auditors, by maintaining and providing support to the audit team for walkthrough procedures and manage audit support requests as they pertain to the inter-company, eliminations and consolidations work-streams.
- Partner with the team to continuously improve system automation in an effort to help scale accounting operations.
- Lead special projects such as implementing new process improvements and updating process documentation.
- Coach and guide team on Oracle Fusion best practices.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed.
$97,400 - $180,100 bimonthly
CompensationAt Atlassian, we tie our base pay ranges to role and level. In the United States, that means your base pay ranges will fall into one of three geographic pay zones depending on your location. Our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:Zone A: $117,400 - $180,100Zone B: $105,700 - $162,100Zone C: $97,400 - $149,500Within each range, base pay is ultimately determined based on your skills, expertise, and experience. More about our teamThis role will be a member of the General Ledger accounting team at Atlassian which is responsible for looking after the general ledger and running the month end close process, our work includes most general ledger accounts except revenue and tax. In this role you will work with various members of the international accounting team to meet monthly deliverables. You will also be liaising with the external accountants on a regular basis to ensure that all accounting compliance matters are up to date.
