Software Engineer - Backend (Playback Services)

In return, we expect you to take ownership of the system, and that means: · You’re responsible for the operational health of your services · You’re empowered and encouraged to fix operational issues, as part of sprint capacityYour TeamThe Team is responsible for the backend services that power DAZN Playback. The team owns some of the critical services responsible for managing and returning the appropriate stream-related data back to the client devices. The team will consist of 5 Software Engineers and 2 Software Engineers in Test who will be supported by Scrum Master and Engineering Manager. This role can be based in Katowice or you can work remotely from anywhere in Poland. The internal job title is Software Engineer.

As our new Software Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to:

• Build and maintain scalable microservices  
• Deliver maintainable, robust and testable code  
• Share knowledge and collaborate with other developers across the business  
• Evolve and design services that power and monitor video streaming  
• Partner with other Software Engineering teams to create end-to-end solutions  

You’ll be set up for success if you have:

• Experience working on backend services (JavaScript/TypeScript skills) 
• Experience with Node.js 
• Experience with cloud and/or microservices (AWS preferred) 
• Good English skills (B2 minimum) to cooperate with people at all seniority levels 

Even better if you have:

• Experience with Terraform 
• Worked in a “Build it, own it” model  
• Worked in an Agile-based team
