The opportunity:
- As a Senior Consultant within the Consulting team, you will help KPMG to develop and deliver solutions and approaches by applying systems thinking across Government, Māori business and private sector to address critical social, economic and environmental issues of today and tomorrow.
- You will support the implementation within Consulting and its clients of KPMG’s Economic and Social Development proposition within our IMPACT proposition set (KPMG IMPACT - KPMG New Zealand (home.kpmg))
- You will draw on your experience in either structure, system, service and/or process design and implementation and be able to demonstrate where you have helped drive and deliver projects that delivered transformative results, whether large or small scale.
- This is a tailored role where you will need to apply your intellectual leadership, business acumen and systems thinking to perform problem solving in complex systems across different clients, industries, and solutions.
- You will have experience in project planning and delivery as you'll be tasked with planning and delivering client projects, supported by a team. You will be playing your part by leading a high performing team of consultants across various client projects.
Day to day you will:
- Provide advice to engagement teams across consulting with clients in Government, Māori and private sector organisations to help them understand and embed systems thinking in their client engagement work.
- Develop approaches to solve specific client problems and inform the ongoing development of KPMG IMPACT’s Economic and Social Development offering with systems thinking approaches.
- Deliver training and development to Consulting colleagues to embed an awareness and understand of system thinking concepts, tools and approaches.
- Undertake collaborative, co-designed service/process/organisational reform at scale that reflects a deep understanding of social, cultural, and environmental impact
- Provide people and operational leadership to the team, assisting with staff supervision, counselling, review and on the job coaching of staff on individual engagements, this includes demonstrating the ability to be able to help colleagues understand and apply systems thinking in their work with clients
What you'll bring to the team:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in developing and applying systems thinking methodologies and designing systems, processes and/or programmes to work that is designed to deliver stronger outcomes and impact.
- Proven people leadership and management
- Demonstrated ability to work in cross-cultural spaces, expertise in te ao Māori, knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the ability to appropriately apply it to allocated work will be advantageous.
- Demonstrated sophisticated interpersonal skills and the ability to develop successful relationships both within KPMG and externally, as you will be expected to work closely with teams and clients.
- Passion for improving social outcomes and impact and reducing inequity for New Zealanders and drive to positively impact the Sustainable Development Goals, increase inclusion and improve lives.
- Experience in organisational culture change projects is advantageous.
- You will possess a relevant qualification (strategic management, social and cultural transformation, environmental science and political development) with preferred interest in social transformation, social capital, environmental systems design, public policy, or other relevant disciplines.
