Senior Animation Specialist, Android

This position requires professional experience developing android application animations. Our ideal candidate must exhibit the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment, be able to produce beautiful animations that match the design specs perfectly, and creatively find optimal solutions that use minimal memory.

The Role

• Implement and maintain animations with relevant unit tests
• Develop these animations with minimal memory usage
• Design animations in a way that can be easily altered but also be used in multiple applications
• Add animations within the Android OS
• Support application developers on how to use these animations, if needed
• Work in conjunction with the motion team to produce to scope and develop these animations

Qualifications

• 5+ years of android animation development experience
• Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and politely
• Frame-by-frame animation experience with tricks to use the least amount of RAM possible
• Understand when to use png asset versus vector drawable asset
• Experience with vector drawable animations
• Proficient with version control software, ideally Gitlab
• Proficient with Java
• Masters in CS or Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience
Bonus:
• Proficient in QT/QML animations
• Proficient in other programming languages
