The opportunity:

    • Your new role as a Consultant in the Auckland Consulting team at KPMG will see you join a diverse team of experts working to deliver solutions and approaches that further support our clients across Iwi, Māori business and private sector to become more connected, innovative and prosperous.
    • This is a tailored role, you will need to be a commercially minded and critical thinker. You will also need to have relevant experience in project management and delivery, gained in a consulting environment or relevant sector experience.
    • To be successful in this role you will have experience in navigating cross-cultural spaces, working with Māori frameworks and concepts, proficiency in Māori cultural competency and at least an beginner level of Te Reo Māori me ōna tikanga.

Day to day you will:

    • Work at pace with a high attention to detail, providing expertise across a wide range of engagements in key service areas such as Strategy, Operating Model and Organisation Design, Systems Change, Programme or Service Design, Economics, Design Thinking, People and Change Management, Customer Experience, Governance Capability Development and Project Management.
    • Deliver and support team members in the successful delivery of business advisory engagements. Including facilitating workshops, conducting analysis to identify issues, forming hypotheses, designing solutions, preparing insightful presentations to communicate findings to clients.
    • Contribute to the development of new service offerings centred in indigenous and Māori methodology. Weaving together Māori and global approaches in a way that is meaningful, respectful and focused on transforming outcomes for Māori.
    • Assist with staff supervision, counselling, review and on the job coaching of staff on individual engagements.

What you'll bring to the team:

    • 3+ years of relevant practical consulting or sector experience (experience working in the Māori sector, with or for Iwi/Hapū PSGE or Trusts, Public or Corporate sectors)
    • People management experience
    • Proficiency in Māori cultural competency and at least an beginning level of Te Reo Māori me ōna tikanga.
    • Passion for improving enhancing Māori business and organisations that deliver social outcomes and reduce inequity for New Zealanders
    • Demonstrate advanced problem solving, project management and/or delivery abilities and workshop design and facilitation.
    • Demonstrated commercial acumen and understanding and experience in one or more of the following will be advantageous: Strategy, Operating Model and Organisation Design, System Change, Programme or Service Design, Economics, Design Thinking, People and Change Management, Customer Experience and Project Management.
