Our mission is to provide best-in class services and products to help the company uncover actionable insights using AI and analytics and provide awareness across various product lines.As Sustainability research scientist you will lead the product sustainability initiative by identifying and implementing the state-of-the-art green mobility and transportation sustainability solutions. You will be collaborating with engineering, design, marketing, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to evaluate and implement sustainable processes in the company. Location is flexible in California and Oregon.

The Role

    • Develop, maintain, and improve Lucid’s carbon emissions forecasting models
    • Create and manage complex environmental databases and actionable sustainability dashboards
    • Generates the Lucid’s yearly greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory.
    • Perform Life Cycle Cost Assessments (LCA) and carbon accounting
    • Design and carry out research with attention to detail, collect/organize/report results and carry out subsequent studies to further the progress of the program.
    • Write sustainability specifications, design standards, and healthy materials performance requirements in close collaboration with design teams.
    • Work with product, commercial and marketing teams to define technical goals that will support the company to meet business objectives.

Qualifications

    • PhD degree in environmental science, civil engineering, Mechanical engineering or related STEM field.
    • 3+ years of research or industry experience working with carbon accounting, GHG inventories, LCA, circular economy, and/or sustainability consulting
    • Proficient in GaBi, SimaPro, and/or OpenLCA
    • Proficiency in Excel (VBA), SQL, Tableau/PowerBI and familiarity with python programming language.
    • Professional credentials such as the Life Cycle Assessment Certified Professional (LCA CP) preferred
    • Proven track record of publications in the transportation sustainability is a plus
    • Excellent communication, written and presentation skills.
