This position requires an experienced professional with a basic understanding of vehicle dynamics and control theory, and a passion for EV’s. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
Role/Responsibilities:
- Work closely with engineers across a variety of departments to understand and improve vehicle performance
- Wire sensors and install data acquisition equipment on vehicles
- Travel to test tracks, and record vehicle data
- Develop scripts to analyze performance
- Contribute towards handling data and presenting findings clearly
- Troubleshoot and resolve vehicle issues that arise during test
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of vehicle dynamics, electric powertrains, or control theory
- Data analysis skills in MATLAB, Python, or similar
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills based on strong engineering principles
- Comfortable with hands-on vehicle work
- Detail-oriented and organized approach to documentation
Nice to have:
- Experience working in a collaborative environment
- Experience participating in or leading car related projects such as Formula or Baja SAE, Solar Car, Super mileage, or related areas
- Exposure to SAE vehicle dynamics
Education:
- Field(s)of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related fields
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD Degree program at an accredited university.
- Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS, PhD)
Information:
- Location: This position is in Newark, CA. You must be prepared to start onsite for your first day of employment.
- Availability: Full-time is preferred
- Anticipated Hours: 8:30am – 5:30pm
- Work Environment: Mix of lab, office, bay and proving grounds for testing.
- Compensation: Student compensation is based on location and current degree level, non-negotiable.
- Visa Sponsorship: Lucid may but is not obligated to sponsor foreign national employees requiring company sponsorship for U.S employment authorization.
- Medical Benefits: Dental and vision on day 1 for all interns working 30+ hours a week; medical for interns in California working 30+ hours a week.
