This position requires an experienced professional with a basic understanding of device software programming and a passion for working on EV’s. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment. 

Role/Responsibilities:

    • Work on vehicle Infotainment system 
    • Analyze performance of device drivers by collecting run-time data, correlate with the implementation and recommend improvements 
    • Review recommendation with senior members of the team and implement the improvements. 
    • Compare results from before and after the changes 
    • Recommend strategic instrumentation of the device boot process by studying the boot sequence 
    • Implement the instrumentation in automation framework to collect data on boot performance so that regression can be identified 

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with device software programming 
    • Eager to work with physical devices 
    • Experience on tinkering with OS such as Linux or Android 
    • Good understanding of operations of device drivers, OS internals such as interrupt processing and IPC mechanisms 
    • Fluent in shell scripts and C 

Nice to have:

    • Experience with real-time OS 
    • Exposure to device tinkerer with Raspberry Pi, Arduino or equivalent 
    • Experience working in past internships in related areas

Education:

    • Field(s)of study: Computer Science or related fields 
    • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD Degree program at an accredited university. 
    • Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS, PhD)

Other:

    • Location: This position is in Newark, CA. You must be prepared to start onsite for your first day of employment. 
    • Availability: Full-time is preferred 
    • Anticipated Hours: 8:30am – 5:30pm 
    • Work Environment: Mix of Lab, Office, Bay and work inside of our vehicle. 
    • Compensation: Student compensation is based on location and current degree level, non-negotiable. 
    • Visa Sponsorship: Lucid may but is not obligated to sponsor foreign national employees requiring company sponsorship for U.S employment authorization. 
    • Medical Benefits: Dental and vision on day 1 for all interns working 30+ hours a week; medical for interns in California working 30+ hours a week. 
    • Housing/Transportation: You must provide your own living arrangements and transportation in the local area. 
    • Background Check: All offers of employment are contingent on clearing a background check.
