Head of Product Data Science, Workplace Management

The Atlassian Work Management leadership squad (which includes products Trello and Confluence) is looking for a Head of Product Data Science to join their team. In this role, you will be part of the product leadership team that establishes Atlassian as the leading company defining the future of work for all teams, delivering multiple lovable and differentiated products to expand beyond our existing authority in the IT and software development markets. As the data science leader, you’ll shape how ‘all things' data and data science contribute to this strategy. You’ll also be part of a global Data Science organization, reporting to the Global Head of Product Data Science.

You will have the opportunity to:

• Be the ‘go to’ data science partner for the Work Management product leadership team as it pursues a major company objective for Atlassian
• Advance Atlassian’s data science capabilities and impact; integrating high-impact and cutting-edge solutions, providing thought leadership to drive business value, and cultivating close partnerships with a broad range of product leaders
• Lead and grow a talented global data-science team to help drive the success of Atlassian’s work management strategy

To be successful in this role, you:

• Bring previous experience scaling and developing a global team of data scientists, with individual contributors to group manager direct reports
• Have a strong ability to establish and advance how data-science informs product strategy. Identify opportunities for impact, explain data science concepts and findings to diverse executive audiences, and build decision confidence by sharing expertise in facts and uncertainties.
• Ruthlessly prioritize against company goals, with the ability to easily operate on both multi-year planning horizons and short-term multi-tasking in order to prioritize urgent and high-profile projects
• Embrace the technical challenges of data science leadership, not shying away from your technical experience or complex details when it matters
• Are passionate about the craft of data science, and bring a breadth of data-science knowledge and leadership skills to Atlassian
