Control Risks is seeking a GSOC Analyst to work as a member of our Client’s Threat and Intelligence Team. The Analyst will work with a dedicated team of analysts to provide tactical and operational intelligence on a 24/7/365 basis taking action at the right moment to ensure that relevant stakeholders can bring critical decision-making and crisis management skills to bear in order. The position will work weekends and holidays.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze global events to identify and assess threats to the Client’s specific international operations, assets, and personnel
Support the Lead Analyst with all initiatives
Track and action incidents that could affect the Client’s assets
Assist with the GSOC Operators to ensure the safety of Client’s employees and offices
Utilize several open-source data platforms to gather information to distill into actionable intelligence
Monitor social media on a regular basis for threats and security-related intelligence with regard to risks to the Client
Assist with production of specific briefings or presentations
Support location-specific intelligence, including active and archived alerts; city and country intelligence; and interactive maps
Provide email notifications of threats based on geographies
Work nights, weekends, and holidays
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
A minimum bachelor’s degree in history, political science, international relations, intelligence analysis, criminal justice, regional studies, or a related discipline; master’s degree strongly preferred
At least 3 months of experience in incident tracking and event monitoring
Exposure and a strong interest in security operations or physical security
Experience in security analysis and risk assessments
Proven ability to accurately draw conclusions by synthesizing raw data and information from multiple, unrelated sources into a finished comprehensive product
Ability to identify and solve complex problems and carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision, at times under adverse and stressful conditions
Availability to work on emergency situations during off-hours and, if necessary, for an extended period of time
Ability to interact effectively at all levels of an organization and across diverse cultural and language barriers
Ability to quickly adapt to the external environment and organization
A strong customer service focus and ability to build and maintain trusting relationships
Ability to be a positive and effective team member
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
Technical Competencies
Prior related global risk and threat analysis experience required
Experience in the collection and analytical methodologies
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; the ability to present information in a graphic format and concise reports
Willingness and ability to respond to emergency or crisis situations on a 24-hour basis
Ability to perform under pressure and respond rapidly to breaking situations within tight timelines
Excellent research, analytical, writing, and verbal presentation skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
Ability to work with a wide range of individuals from diverse backgrounds and varying levels within the global corporate structure
Ability to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision, at times under adverse and stressful conditions
Ability to deal effectively with others in order to collect, evaluate and organize pertinent facts and employ multidisciplinary analysis with and without systems support
Keen understanding of social media monitoring techniques
