Financial Planning and Analysis - R&D Senior Manager

In this highly visible position, you'll oversee the operational plan of the Atlassian R&D organization and play a meaningful role in influencing both the company and product & platform strategy. You will partner directly with the highest levels of R&D leadership and drive value with a particular focus on leading the company’s annual planning and monthly/quarterly forecasting processes. You will lead and shape an existing trusted R&D finance team.

In this role, you'll get to:

• Lead Atlassian’s forecasting, annual planning and financial long-range planning for R&D, overseeing all of Atlassian’s R&D business partnering
• Coach and mentor your team to support their growth / professional development and identify the mix and level of talent required to support current and future objectives
• Lead and align team members across the R&D organization, to prepare financial analysis, decision support analysis, financial modeling and provide ad-hoc analytical support
• Facilitate finance optimization efforts and help us build a world-class FP&A organization by developing, standardizing, maintaining and driving continuous improvement of all planning and forecast process
• Own the communications strategy for all planning changes which includes executive level and detailed project briefs and status updates

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

• Qualitative:
• Ability to prioritize objectives in a fast-paced environment to ensure key deliverables are met in a timely manner
• Experience with simultaneously managing multiple business stakeholders' budgets
• Excellent critical thinking, organizational, and prioritization skills

• An effective communicator who is concise, timely, and able to explain finance and accounting to non-finance partners
• Efficient with managing tasks that require collaboration with stakeholders in different time zones
• Comfortable with senior leaders and even challenging the status quo when it's in the business’s best interests
• Quantitative:
• A minimum of 10 yeas experience with at least 5 years experience managing a finance team.
• Solid experience with planning and budgeting processes, financial forecasting, P&L management, interpreting and reporting business performance results
• Prior software sector experience is highly preferred, Cloud/SaaS is a strong plus.
• Experience supporting an R&D / Product organization
• Advanced Proficiency in financial modeling
• Strong technical fundamentals - excel, but also exposure to planning tools (Anaplan), database / data warehousing concepts and finance systems (CRM & ERP)

CompensationAt Atlassian, we tie our base pay ranges to role and level. In the United States, that means your base pay ranges will fall into one of three geographic pay zones depending on your location. Our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:Zone A: $150,300 - $210,525Zone B: $135,300 - $189,473Zone C: $124,800 - $174,736Within each range, base pay is ultimately determined based on your skills, expertise, and experience.
