Engineering Manager, Data Management Platform (Managed Elasticsearch)

Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.Your future teamData Management Platform (DMP) are a set of infrastructure teams that build and run the services that provision and manage the persistent data stores used by Atlassian's product and platform teams. DMP are creating a new team with the goal of reducing operational overhead for Atlassian teams that are running Elasticsearch at scale. The Managed Elasticsearch team will accomplish this mission by building platform capabilities and automation tooling as well as by providing Elasticsearch consulting support to Atlassian's product and platform teams.You'll build a new team consisting of Elasticsearch experts, empowering them to achieve their goals, and putting those goals into broader context. What you'll do:

• Build a team with a focus on employee performance and growth management
• Partner with engineers, product managers, and leaders to help define a new Managed Elastic Search platform
• Contribute to design and engineering of the internal platform services that operate the search infrastructure functionality for Atlassian's cloud products

Your background:

• 2+ years in engineering management following Agile development processes and leading a successful development or systems engineering team
• Project management and cross team coordination experience
• Drive technical improvements, pushing innovation and quality
• Communicate strategy, plans, and status at all levels of the Cloud Infrastructure organisation
• Experience with DevOps practices and hands on with improving operational health of production systems
• Comfortable with operating in an environment of experimentation and continuous learning
