Engineering Manager, Community

Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.Atlassian is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join the Community development team, part of the Economy Demand Engineering group, on our mission to build a dynamic social platform for our massive customer base. The Atlassian Community serves as the central hub for support, discussion, and idea exchange for millions of Atlassian end-users, solution partners, Marketplace vendors, user group leaders, and others -- and we're just getting started.As an engineering manager on the Community team, you will lead a cross-skills team of engineers, working together with product and design partners to build features and components for our Atlassian Community platform. You'll be part of a wider team who's mission is to improve the experience of the Atlassian Community Ecosystem.Your greatest responsibility is to look after the individuals reporting to you – mentoring and supporting them in their professional development, unlocking their potential, and challenging them to step outside their comfort zone to grow and excel. You will help deliver incrementally and often, experiment to explore new ideas, and focus on continuous improvement in every aspect of what we do.The best person for this role is someone that has strong team leadership skills and a collaborative spirit - someone who is comfortable saying "I don't know" and working on finding solutions rather than starting with an assumption. The team needs someone who can ask questions, learn from others and move forward. What you'll do

• Manage and coach team members in skills and career growth
• Experience driving and managing technically challenging projects
• Partner with other members of the Community triad ( Product, Design, Engineering)
• Communicate strategy, plans, and status at all levels of the Economy Demand organization
• Collaborate across teams and departments to work with dependent teams and agree on shared goals
• Keep teams focused through uncertainty

Your background

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 3+ years in engineering management following Agile development processes and leading a development team
