Director, Information Security

We're looking for our very first Director of Information Security. 

This is a crucial role for us because we’re dealing with an incredible amount of sensitive topics and have unique security considerations. This means that we need you to come in to make sure we’re protected. Reporting to the VP of Engineering and working closely with the DevOps and Engineering teams, you’ll be ultimately responsible for designing, codifying and implementing a company information security management framework that not only safeguards our organization but enables us to achieve our goals. Educating our team members with relevant security and data privacy training, you’ll also serve as a trusted advisor to our client base; understanding their security concerns and addressing them through action or explanation. 

In collaboration with our C-Level and senior leadership (some of whom are former Department of Treasury executives) you’ll proactively work within all aspects of the business, developing and implementing practices that meet or exceed SOC and NIST standards for information security. Moreover, you’ll create clear and practical processes for handling potential data breaches, data loss and natural disasters. You have…

• The appropriate business, technical and domain expertise to share 
• A background in team and project management with a bias towards being proactive. 
• A keen ability to work cross-functionally, effectively negotiating and facilitating solutions in a team environment

Your day-to-day will look like…

• Educating our employees - at all levels - with helpful and relevant security and data privacy trainings
• Managing and overseeing vendor and customer onboarding program and procedures on behalf of Kharon
• Creating clear, practical processes for handling breaches, data loss, and natural disasters
• Proactively monitor for and respond to urgent issues and CVEs that would otherwise put us at risk
• Designing, codifying, and implementing a company information security management framework that protects us while enabling us to achieve our goals
• Developing and overseeing all IT policies including security policies and procedures to ensure best practice and appropriate levels of internal controls
• Understanding our customers' security concerns and addressing them through action or explanation
• Working with the DevOps and Engineering teams to implement software, tools, and technology to ensure world-class security
