We're looking for a Senior Researcher to help us gain insight into how we empower and multiply the impact of our engineering teams. Cloud Infrastructure serves internal customers through providing the tooling for all developers within Atlassian to build, test, deploy and run services and libraries in the most efficient way possible.As the Senior Researcher, you will be involved in delivering research projects that will have a big impact on the broader group strategy. You will also be a key member of the cross-functional team responsible for creating the most effective and impactful processes for our engineering community.

What you'll do

• Reporting into a Research Manager, you will deliver on the research strategy for ongoing insights flow for building excellence in employee experience.
• You will partner with key stakeholders across engineering to demonstrate the value of quality of research and its impact.
• Mentor junior researchers, and communicate the research best practices at Atlassian.
• Communication skills that influence and inspire change. You know how to analyse qualitative data, synthesize into a coherent and truthful story, and how to create effective ways of sharing your insights so they resonate and are impactful across diverse audiences.
• Collaborate on the strategy to support a world class engineering organisation
• Promote research and contribute to the development of an experienced research practice across our Cloud Infrastructure team.
• You'll be empowered to work with autonomy and creativity every step of the way, working with stakeholders to determine where the greatest impact can be made, and to triage research requests. We expect you to draw on other research programs and specialities within the wider team to bring additional depth and reliability to your insights, and effectively represent user research.

Your background

• You'll have experience conducting applied research within a variety of complex domains.
• Experience within a B2B enterprise environment is desirable but not essential.
• You may have a degree in psychology, anthropology, human computer interaction or related fields.
• You are comfortable building rapport with and influencing senior leadership
• 5+ years of hands-on experience executing research that has had an impact on the business outcomes.
• Experience in different qualitative research methodologies and you know when to apply each method.
• You can process and analyse research results to create relevant, tactical and strategic recommendations.
• You can develop behavioural archetypes, personas and user goals.
• You have a history of collaboration with experience design and product development.
