You will have the opportunity to work with a strong team of Engineers, DBAs, and support staff working on large-scale distributed enterprise systems. You will drive the success of our services by supporting the organization and ensuring our customers receive the best quality product possible. Career Level SummaryThis role is part of the ObjectRocket leadership team and reports to the Director. Receives little to no instruction on day-to-day work. Collaborates on product strategy with the leadership team and determines day-to-day functions of product operations. Supervises a team of product and operations staff.Overall ownership for a product line (multiple products). Provides strategic leadership and tactical delivery on projects while collaborating with sales, segments, customers. (with Staff). Provides direction to Product Analysts/ Managers reporting to him or her. Provides input to PjM on resource negotiation, managing workload, and setting schedule. Mentors staff and helps with career development. Understands and ensures goals are met within the group or department.
Critical Competencies
- Provides supervision and development for assigned staff.
- Strategic- high contribution to product line strategy as well as individual product. Tactical- lower contribution (if PA available). Added complexity of management of teams/personnel (if has management responsibility). Develops product line/Program strategies and is involved in cross domain strategy creation.
Knowledge
- Expert knowledge of the following domains: IT and hosting industry plus product domain. Strong understanding of business as it relates to the hosting industry. Working knowledge of product development life cycle (relevant experience in all phases).
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree required. MS in technology or MBA preferred
Experience
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years related experience (5+ years in technology and product development)
Physical Demands
- General office environment. Moderate levels of stress may occur at times. May require long periods sitting and viewing a computer monitor. No special physical demands required. Schedule flexibility to include working a weekend day regularly and holidays as required by the business for 24/7 operations. Occasional travel, less than 10%.
