Position Overview: We are expanding our team of motivated engineers with a proven track record of delivering a best-in-class DBaSS platform – ObjectRocket. You will have the opportunity to work with a strong team of engineers working on large-scale distributed enterprise systems. You will design, implement, and support complex architectural design of hardware, software, and networking systems.
Work Location: Work may be performed remotely from anywhere within the 48 continuous United States.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:· Implement and support the Linux infrastructure as code both on cloud and on-prem data centers. · Provision, configure and support resilient hybrid cloud deployment architecture using the automation framework. · Manage Linux infrastructure, CI/CD platform, work with other Linux Engineers in deploying and maintaining automation framework, capacity planning, create and review operational runbooks.· Set up critical infrastructure, develop tools and framework to automate operational tasks, deployment of machines, services/apps. · Manage scalability, capacity planning, redundancy, and resiliency. · Maintain service availability and performance SLAs based on business and product requirements. · Contribute to documentation related to design, deployment, validation, and operations. · Design proactive service monitoring, alerting and trend analysis of underlying infrastructure, and support the operations team in implementation. · Initiate, lead scripting and automation to streamline system updates and upgrades.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: · Linux experience in hybrid (cloud, on-prem) environment. · Strong foundation in Linux operating systems, Troubleshooting, Design, and Implementation.· Experience with Ansible, Salt or similar configuration management tool to manage infrastructure as code. · Experience working with cloud environments, primarily AWS. · Experience using Infrastructure-As-Code to build large scale environments. · Programming knowledge in Python/Bash/Perl/Go languages to automate infrastructure workflow. · Understanding of software development methodologies and practices, including agile development, continuous integration and continuous delivery. · Understanding of Network Firewalls, load balancers, and complex network designs. · Experience in monitoring technologies like Sensu, Nagios, Icinga, Grafana, Prometheus.· Understanding Kubernetes, container lifecycle and troubleshooting. · Hands-on knowledge of high-availability approaches such as load balancing, failover, clustering, and disaster recovery.
Preferred KSA’s:· Linux kernel tunning experience. · Container management/orchestration experience. · Experience using LXD system containers.
Experience/Education:· 8+ Years of system engineering experience on mission-critical, enterprise level systems.· 8+ Years of Linux systems experience, ideally Ubuntu, SUSE and CentOS, Managing large scale complex applications. · Bachelor’s degree is required. At the manager’s discretion, additional relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement at a rate of 3 years’ experience for 1 year of higher education. The anticipated starting pay range of Colorado applicants for this role is $104,200- $135,200
