Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.To help our teams work together effectively, this role is fully remote but requires you to be located in Australia or New Zealand time zones.You'll be part of the organisation within Jira Service Management (JSM) Cloud that is focussed on accelerating adoption of JSM beyond IT teams into business teams, think HR, Marketing, Finance, Legal Teams etc. Expanding beyond IT teams represents a huge opportunity for JSM, but with our product traditionally targeted towards IT teams we have work to do to make it easier for business teams to get started with JSM. By simplifying core experiences and making it easier to get started via templates, onboarding and out-of-the-box experiences for business teams, we will be reducing the bottleneck on IT admins and making it easier to expand JSM across all teams within an organisation.As a Senior Engineering Manager, you'll be a technical leader and people manager, responsible for guiding the team and working with your triad to deliver our “Service for All” roadmap. The role reports directly to the mission lead.
What you'll do:
- Inspire innovation and operational excellence

- Be the engineering voice in our quarterly planning process
- Build an open, trusting, operationally mature culture
- Participate in hiring planning and other budgeting exercises
- Collaborate in technical/architectural discussions, provide direction, and lead decision-making
Your background:
- 5+ years of experience managing software engineers
- Demonstrated experience partnering with product managers and designers to create the course of a product
- Demonstrated experience implementing dev-ops best practices
- Demonstrated experience driving delivery through strong delivery practices, across complex programs of work
- Familiarity working with publicly facing high-traffic services
- Excited to foster a culture of continuous improvement
