Senior Engineering Manager - Jira Platform Foundations

With a sufficient timezone overlap with the team, we're able to hire eligible candidates for this role from any location in Australia and New Zealand.Your future teamJira Cloud CI (Continuous Integration team) is a DevOps team comprised of people with backgrounds in supporting developers and their teams to build and test their changes before deploying to the cloud in a safe and reliable way. We assist Atlassian engineers by providing an automated, scalable and reliable test platform, ensuring correctness before shipping changes to customers.We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Manager to lead our Continuous Integration (CI) team. You will manage the team, implementing CI strategies, and driving the automation of our software build and test processes and work with teams to ensure that our products are released on time, with the highest quality.You'll be part of the Jira Cloud DevOps team in the Jira Foundations group and report to an Engineering Manager. The team's mission is to enable development teams to safely and reliably deliver Jira Cloud changes from the feature branch to production.

What you'll do

• Lead the Continuous Integration team, part of the DevOps department, and ensure that the team is aligned with organisational goals.
• Hire and grow the team in multiple timezones, looking after people growth and impact
• Provide coaching to team members to develop their skills and enhance their performance.
• Partner with leadership, team members and other departments to improve the software delivery process and increase operational efficiency.
• Develop and implement CI strategies and projects to improve the software delivery process and increase operational efficiency.
• Achieve success in designing the CI infrastructure and tools, including build servers, testing frameworks, and release automation tools.
• Manage the CI environment to ensure high availability and scalability.
• Deliver improvements to the CI process to enhance the efficiency, speed, and quality of software delivery.

Your background

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in CI/CD and DevOps
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role
• Success with designing CI/CD pipelines at scale
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Desired experience with Atlassian CI tools such as Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jira
• Excellent project management experience managing complex projects.
• Passionate about building a team environment and build relationships with your team and other departments
