Your future teamOur Network, Identity & Security team is a global team focussed on delivering highly available and performant services and platforms, including our global corporate network environment and services across identity, security and operations.As a Senior Engineering Manager for IT, you will be in the drivers seat working with the industry’s best to shape its roadmap so it can scale to support the growing needs of the business. You will provide technical leadership and mentorship through pairing, daily stand-ups, project management and ongoing support.Sitting alongside three other teams including Platform Engineering, Endpoint Engineering and DevOps, you will be responsible for 10 network and system engineers spread across the US, India and Australia.Together these teams run some of the most important Atlassian platforms such as: ZeroTrust, Active Directory, Remote Access, Office Networks and Corporate Firewalls.Looking ahead this team will be challenged by maintaining our high level of operational reliability, while also building our infrastructure to support the growing needs of Atlassian
You will responsible for:
- Managing growth and performance of a range of engineers responsible for critical networks and systems
- Manage large-scale projects aimed at improving global services that impact all of Atlassian
- Running critical platforms in a cloud hosted environment
- Ensure the team is nailing all operational aspects and building available and performant services
On your first day, we will expect you to have:
- 5+ years of experience managing teams of Network and System engineers responsible for mission-critical services
- Experience with problem solving and an ability to find technical solutions to business problems
- Extensive experience managing network services across in a global organisation
- Solid technical foundation with in-depth understanding of Microsoft and Linux systems and building, automating, and maintaining infrastructure in Amazon Web Services
It is great, but not required, if you have:
- Exposure to and maintenance of configuration management and orchestration tools such as Ansible and Puppet
- Passion to lead Atlassian's technical direction - driving service architecture through collaboration across multiple departments
- Experience managing SREs (site reliability engineers) in addition to System and Network Engineers
