Team culture

Jellysmack has developed one-of-a-kind technology built around four products aimed at optimizing video creation and distribution on social networks.

The Architecture & Security team supports all the engineering and product teams to ensure we build a consistent, domain-driven designed, secure platform.

Security Engineers implement DevSecOps practices and tooling across the organization. Software Engineers build tailored tools and contribute to other products' codebase to improve the security posture.

Your mission

As an Engineering Manager, you lead a team of Security and Software Engineers to improve the security posture and risk management culture. Your missions include:

• Manage individual performance: 1o1s, quarterly and yearly reviews, career planning and give regular feedback.
• Drive the technical efficiency and professional growth of the team through coaching, mentoring and delegating work
• Help the team identify the appropriate initiatives to contribute to the OKRs and arbitrate the priorities when needed
• Create a healthy, learning and diverse environment where the team is supported while increasing delivery proficiency
• Collaborate with other tribes to align the team with Jellysmack’s objectives and initiatives across engineering
• Hire new members of the team
• Participate in technical choices (architecture, conception) with the help of tech leads and system architects

What you’ll be responsible for

• Cultivating team spirit, caring about the success and well-being of employees
• Being a mentor, supervising the collaboration, helping the team to develop and overcome obstacles that may arise
• Supporting the team in the design, technical development, and automation of critical processes
• Acting as an ambassador and a facilitator with other teams to ensure timely delivery of projects
• Driving innovation, establishing new approaches in improving productivity
• Working closely with tribe leaders to develop short and long term strategies aligned with the business
• Establishing a metrics based organization, developing key operational metrics and pushing for continuous improvement
• Organizing the team Incident Response setup

A little about you

• You have a background in either Computer Science, Software Engineering, Infrastructure/Ops or Security consulting
• You know AWS building blocks with an angle on access management and data privacy
• You have participate in setting up Security Policies, Incident Response
• You care about your team mates, believe in the feedback culture
