Responsibilities:
Be part of the Operations team, but will also work directly with OpenVPN’s Head of Information Security
Perform cloud and bare-metal infrastructure buildout
Help troubleshoot outage or performance related incidents
Assist with workload migrations to Kubernetes
Automate processes with configuration management tools
Contribute to CI/CD pipeline initiatives
Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies that are relevant to improving OpenVPN infrastructure
Work with monitoring tools to setup or improve services monitoring and alerts
Perform infrastructure security evaluations and improvements to ensure security standards are met
Support, maintain, improve systems documentation, policies and procedures

Required skills
5+ years of experience in a DevOps role
Extensive experience in Linux server operating systems
Strong experience in AWS services
Working knowledge of technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, AWS ECS and EKS
Strong operational experience with one of the scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, Python
Experience in configuration management tools such as Puppet and Ansible
Experience in infrastructure as code such as Terraform
Experience working with ELK stack
Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
Strong networking and troubleshooting skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desired skills
Experience working with large DevOps teams distributed across the world
Experience with key/value stores such as Consul, Vault
Experience in Kubernetes auto-scaling
Familiarity with Identity/Auth solutions such as Free IPA
Experience in PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases
Experience deploying security controls required for frameworks such as SOC2.
Involvement with the Information Security community
Experience with horizontally scaled databases (CitusData, TimescaleDB)
