Principal Software Security Engineer

How you’ll be protecting the world:

As a Principal Software Security Engineer at Venafi, you’ll be part of an extremely motivated, dedicated, and experienced team that protects many of the largest organizations in the world.

A Principal Software Security Engineer plays a leadership role in creating and establishing a Security Always culture at Venafi. You will work as an integral part of the engineering organization to ensure that Venafi’s software is developed in consonance with fastsecure principles from inception to delivery. As a leader within the engineering organization, you will play a very broad role in creating and implementing the security strategy in collaboration with the development and product organization.

The Ideal Warrior will be armed with:

• Be the lead voice for evangelizing a Security Always culture.
• Collaborate with Product Architect(s) on the design of security related features.
• Lead the selection of security software technologies used by Venafi’s products.
• Lead security design and code reviews.
• Define secure coding patterns for a variety of programming languages.
• Establish best practices for security related tests / testing patterns.
• Lead the analysis, mitigation and response to critical security issues that arise.
• Collaborate with development teams to establish principles and practices for securing Venafi’s software supply chain.

What sets you apart:

• MS/PhD (CS, or equivalent) with 8+ years of experience, or BS (CS, or equivalent) with 10+ years of experience, or 12+ years of relevant experience.
• 10+ years of experience in development of mission critical software (SaaS experience a big plus).
• Experience with secure design principles and in implementing security related functionality and testing.
• Demonstrated skills with security frameworks, defense strategies, security tools and protocols.
• Ability to effectively communicate security issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
