Lead Software Architect, Cloud Native Development

United States - RemoteUnited StatesNorth AmericaNovember 14, 2025

Here in the Cloud Native Development (CND) specialty practice, we are always on the forefront of cloud and web technology when creating new applications for our clients. Since 2017 have been on a rocket ride with Amazon’s AWS as early adopters of the serverless approach to cloud development, with this trendsetting SERVERLESS PROJECT. This was quickly followed by bringing AWS IoTsolutions to market. So far, we have achieved 15 AWS competencies, as launch partners in five. If Microsoft or Google technologies pique your interest, then ride along as we expand into Azure and GCP. This is where careers are built, and you’ll build it while working with amazing clients. From huge household names to startups defining whole new ideas, clients rely on our expertise to guide them into their future. Not to worry though, you won’t be thrown to the wolves! Each project has its own handcrafted, agile, cross-disciplined team so that you can focus on what you do best while learning from your colleagues. Finish that project in weeks or months and move on to the next new thing!

What to Expect

    • You will bring your passion and creativity to every feature you design and implement with your team and client. After working with your client to understand their vision, you will architect a custom solution and lead the engineering team to make it a reality.
    • Code will be written in something modern like Typescript, C#, or maybe even Go or Dart.
    • Your focus will be on requirements, design, documentation, maintainability, automation, and optimization. As the lead engineer, you will solve the most complex problems, share your experience with others, and be the primary technical contact for the client.
    • On the backend you’ll avoid being bogged down in minutia with the help of tools like Serverless Framework or AWS CDK with Serverless Stack.
    • For the front-end, modern frameworks like React, React Native, and Angular will brighten your day.
    • The project’s engagement manager will lead you through our optimized version of agile, with all the normal bits of backlog grooming, sprint planning, and demos.
    • The project’s principal and salesperson will help manage the customer, and your lead and manager will be there to provide technical guidance whenever needed.
    • In addition to being an architect, your manager will delegate some people-manager and mentor responsibilities to you.
    • You will also be regarded as one of the cloud native experts throughout the organization.

To Get This Role

    • You will ideally have multiple years of experience doing exactly what is outlined above. If you are lacking in some areas, just be ready to strap in and start learning.
    • You must have real experience architecting and implementing enterprise applications, not just scripts and pet projects. (Although pet projects are cool too!) If you have worked with AWS, Azure, or GCP, especially serverless development, that’s a big plus. Cloud certifications are a great way of proving what you know.
    • You will be talking with teammates and clients, usually remote, so strong verbal communication and other soft skills are needed.
    • Since we hand off our work at the end of the project, and you will be writing the core documentation for applications, writing skills (English, not just code) are critical as well.

Benefits and Perks

    • You deserve a compensation package that goes beyond just a paycheck. What company starts you right off with four and a half weeks of vacation time per year, and your birthday OFF? This one!
    • Because we care about giving back, we also offer a week of paid volunteer time off. An annual performance bonus sweetens the deal. Toss in the usual top notch medical, dental, vision, 401k, stock purchase program, disability, and lots of other perks.
    • You get access to A Cloud Guru (including former Linux Academy content), LinkedIn Learning, and time to take advantage of these to level-up your skills.
    • “Innovation Day" a companywide policy that happens one day a month to be dedicated to individual learning and development. That’s right, no meetings, no deadlines, no stress, just learning and growing how you choose.
    • Your manager is an engineer too and will help guide your growth wherever you want to go. As part of a big company, there’s a whole lot of upward mobility if you want it.
    • Just as the cloud is everywhere, so is our fully remote team. You can work from home in most of the USA and Canada, from our Toronto office, or the amazing global headquarters in San Antonio, Texas.
