We are currently seeking an Intern, Computer Vision Machine Learning Autonomous Driving. This position requires an experienced professional who has experience building production-ready proof-of-concepts analyzing all such data for the purposes of auto-cataloguing and auto-labeling. The scope of this work heavily leans on Computer Vision (both traditional and neural) (Camera, Lidar) but also desires Machine Learning to handle non-visual data (Radar, Ultrasound, IMU, GNSS, etc.). Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment. 

Role/Responsibilities:

• Collaborate in the development of Deep Learning or traditional Computer Vision models to catalogue the contents of camera (image/video) and Lidar (point cloud) data. Example insights: traffic volume, traffic type, pedestrian volume, weather conditions, road conditions, track topography, bike lane presence, lighting conditions, etc.
• Collaborate in the development of Machine Learning models to extract insights from sensor data.
• Combine information from visual and non-visual sensors (multi-modality) to arrive at more accurate inferences.
• Work with us to push outputs to a data-storage endpoint (SQL/No-SQL database, AWS S3, etc.)
• Work with us to deploy Python service endpoints on existing Kubernetes cluster or AWS SageMaker.
• Follow the standard coding conventions, write test cases, and deployment best-practices.
• Work closely with up to 5 cross-functional teams to complete your deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experienced with Python
• Knowledge of TensorFlow/PyTorch, OpenCV, Point Cloud Library, Scikit-learn, Numpy, etc.
• Self starter, with a go getter attitude
• Experience with handling sensors relevant to Autonomous Driving
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Git, Linux etc.

Education:

• Field(s) of study: Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related fields 
• Will consider undergrads Sophomore level and above: Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Post-Secondary 
• Graduates are eligible for this internship up to 12 months after graduation 

Programming Timing:

• Start Date: September 7th, 2021 
• End Date: November 26th- December 23rd  
• Our internship program is 12-16 weeks; end date is flexible based on individual needs.  
• Some flexibility with start date is available as needed. 

Other:

• Location: This position is in Newark, CA. You must be prepared to start onsite for your first day of employment 
• Availability: Full – Time is preferred  
• Anticipated Hours: 8:30am – 5:30pm  
• Work Environment: Mix - Split between: Office/ Lab/ Bay 
• Compensation: Student compensation is based on location and current degree level, non-negotiable. 
• Visa Sponsorship: Lucid may but is not obligated to sponsor foreign national employees requiring company sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization.   
• Medical benefits: Dental and vision on day 1 for all interns working 30+ hours a week; medical for interns in California working 30+ hours a week.  
• Housing: No compensation for housing.   
• Bonus: No signing bonus, relocation bonus, equity, or other bonuses.  
• Relocation: Round trip flight from/to permanent residence.  
• Housing/Transportation: You must provide your own living arrangements and transportation in the local area.   
• Background Check: All offers of employment are contingent on clearing a background check.
