Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.We are looking for a Head of Sales Strategy and Planning to shape both forward-looking strategy and drive focus and outcomes on key programs and initiatives across the Sales organization that will drive growth and reduce friction.Atlassian serves customers of all sizes, from small companies to large enterprises, with a broad portfolio of solutions for Agile, DevOps, ITSM, and Work Management. We are looking for someone who can drive prioritization and coordination across the Sales organization to best support customers and sellers across segments, as well as drive alignment across the broader GTM organization and with key stakeholders. Your Future Team As Head of Sales Strategy & Planning, you will report directly to the VP of Sales Strategy and OperationsThe Sales organization is comprised of - Sales Development, Scaled Sales and Support, Direct Sales, Solution Sales, Channel Sales, and Renewal and Retention teams. You will lead multiple teams that support each of these functional leaders to define and achieve their annual plan. You will also shape our strategy to bring new capabilities to market that set us up for expanding our business.

What you'll do

    • As Head of Sales Strategy & Planning, you will guide and scale the partnership of your teams with each of our Sales functions to help them drive focus and reach their outcomes with greater effectiveness. You will lead a group of managers and their respective teams, to guide:
    • Strategy & Planning - this team partners with leaders and key stakeholders on developing the annual strategy for each function, and develops an investment model for growth strategies and programs.
    • Programs & Projects- this is our PMO and facilitates the delivery of programs of projects--driving decisions making and progress to hit timelines. This team facilitates the intake and prioritization-based strategy and performance.
    • Performance & Business Insights - this team captures both the objective metric and the related operational effectiveness data of strategic initiatives and programs, and analyzes the information to highlight opportunities for improvement for the leadership teams to consider.

Your Background

    • As a strategic partner to teams across the Sales/GTM organization and cross-functionally (i.e., product), you are passionate about shaping all aspects of strategy, planning, delivery, and informed iterations.
    • Have current experience as a Director+ of Sales Strategy, Programs, or Operations
    • Have 7+ years of increased leadership exposure in a fast-growing global SaaS success organization, with a variety of exposure to both SMB and Enterprise customer needs
    • Enjoy partnering to facilitate shared goals with other senior leaders
    • Have managed managers and have experience developing leaders and teams
    • Have experience leading large teams to achieve and surpass operational performance goals
    • Excel in a customer-centric culture that promotes a customer-first mentality
    • Use data analytics to obtain insights that improve customer value
    • Are passionate about driving ideas for measurable improvements from concept to adoption
    • Inspire shared purpose and execution across teams, driving change in a matrix team environment
    • Have experience working with peers across sales, marketing, and data science
    • Weigh the urgent vs. important requests for the bandwidth of your teams and ensure top strategic actions get managed to completion
