Engineering Manager, Jira Data Center (Security)

As our largest enterprise customers consider the prospect of migrating to cloud infrastructure, our key goal is to sustain and support them through their digital transformation journey - we do this by mastering our understanding of the needs of every customer. The Jira DC team is a growing team of high-performing engineers and leaders who are open, collaborative and great to work alongside. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a security-focused team with the goal of elevating Jira DC security posture. Working on the platform level upwards, your team will grow to become security champions, utilising their expertise to advise on strategy through planning and execution. Security considerations are mission critical for our customers and as customer-obsessed product developers, your team will help build a security muscle that is at the top of its craft. You will lead your team to celebrate and leverage customer feedback, build a sustainable model of work and achieve operational excellence. That work will elevate the services we provide to our customers, retain their trust and help them grow their businesses. 

What you'll do

• Lead a high-performing, ambitious team, supporting their growth and development and empowering them to achieve their goals
• Guide the team to have a lasting customer focus and impact
• Responsible for managing multiple workstreams within Jira, with a strong focus on security and compliance
• Provide solutions to specific customer problems, identify patterns and trends and advise on their product roadmaps
• Handle large volumes of data to make it more accessible
• Build a more secure and powerful and reporting experience alongside your team
• Influence the strategic direction of Jira Data Center as it continues to scale

Your background

• 3+ years of demonstrated people leadership experience
• Significant experience in building security and compliance for web applications
• Proven success in leading operational teams
• Previous software development/engineering background
• Passionate about the growth and development of engineering teams
• Knowledge of agile software development methodologies
• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
