Senior Cyber Security Engineer (VP/C13)

The Chief Information Security Office (CISO) is home to deeply talented colleagues that work to ensure the safety of Citi's clients' and our proprietary data. Our mission is to provide strong enterprise cybersecurity that is fully aligned with the enterprise architecture of the firm and is deeply integrated into the sectors and functions.

To scale up our services we are looking for a Security Engineer to join our Cyber Security Services organization, part of the CISO Office. This role will be critical to enable Citi businesses to operate safely. The ideal candidate would be a highly motivated individual familiar with enterprise security solutions, particularly endpoint security control solutions, anti-malware, security gateway products and REST API technologies and automation.

In this role you will lead delivery of strategic security initiatives, including a NextGen Antimalware platform supporting 100+ business applications. You will be also engaged in delivering solutions related to network anti-malware and network segmentation. The role provides a unique opportunity to work with various vendors and cutting-edge technology.

As a Senior Security Engineer you will

  • Define Enterprise Cyber Security Strategies, vision, roadmap and direction including critical products and solutions
  • Be responsible for Global Security Products & Solutions such as Antimalware and BYOD devices controls
  • Research and develop industry leading security architectures together with various R&D teams both in-house and across a variety key industry players with strong collaboration
  • Do hands-on lab testing of emerging cyber security technologies with using end to end architecture readily available in the lab
  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, ensure close co-operation with major suppliers and security companies
  • Write and publish designs, architecture standards, test results and best practice guides for the global audience
  • Call out and identify risk and exposure as it relates to products and architectures from a security and threat perspective
  • Proactively participate in enterprise security work groups and teams to come up with innovative ideas and drive them to execution
  • Act as a senior subject matter expert for subject security technologies and disciplines

Ideal background

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in an Engineering role
  • Fluent English language skills
  • Experience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environment
  • Highly motivated self-starter who enjoys engineering challenges and learning new tools and technology
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practices
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office, SharePoint, JIRA Software & JIRA Confluence
  • 4+ years of large scale host and endpoint security deployments experience
  • Knowledge of market leading antimalware solutions is a plus
  • Relevant Security Certification (e.g. CISSP) is a plus
  • Work with and understand regulatory and risk management requirements
  • Strong Unix / Linux experience
  • Scripting (Python/Perl/Bash)
  • University / College degree in any STEM area or equivalent industry/technology knowledge
