Cloud Security Intern

The Basics:  

At Tanium, Cloud Security Interns have the opportunity to gain valuable, real-world experience in securing business to business security focused applications. Working with a mentor in our cloud security team you’ll select a project vetted by our mentors.  While being supported by your 1-1 mentor and working with our engineers, you’ll deliver your project throughout the course of the internship and present your work to Tanium’s R&D team at the end.  

Examples of possible projects include:  

• Implementation of new security and compliance rules to be interpreted against our Infrastructure-as-Code prior to deployment  
• Implementation of DevSecOps tools that provide detailed security context associated with deployed Cloud resources 
• Implement a server-less service that improves visibility across many AWS accounts  

What you’ll do:  

• Experience first-hand cloud security in a software security company  
• Deliver a well-defined project that will help improve the security at Tanium  
• Contribute as as a valued member of our cloud security team with mentor support and training
• Build a strong network and show off what you’ve built to our entire R&D team

We’re looking for someone with:   

• Availability to work full-time from June 12, 2023 – August 18, 2023. 
• Junior graduating year Spring 2024 or Fall 2023, currently enrolled at an undergraduate institution in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related degree program.
• GPA of 3.5 or above REQUIRED.
• Experience with programming languages like Golang or Python  
• Clear passion for working with cloud or security applications 

Other helpful experience you may have: 

• Prior related internship experience, nice to have
• Some cloud cybersecurity experience preferred
• Some experience with TerraForm, nice to have 

All our intern positions are paid a full-time hourly wage for the duration of our summer internship program.
