This position involves:
Working with DevOps to define and deploy information security technologies and controls across dev, test, and production environments to help mature the information security program
Testing, maintaining, and operating information security controls and information security technologies
Working closely with the Head of Information Security to prioritize and execute information security strategy and achieve information security certifications
Create and manage ticket workflows from inception to completion
Utilize data to improve our monitoring and alerting thresholds and reduce overall noise
Remove blockers for the work that my team has prioritized
Collaborating with diverse DevOps teams working in different time zones
Participating in infrastructure projects that involve cross-team collaboration
Leading infrastructure migration/improvement initiatives
Translate non-technical information security requirements into technical implementation plans
Track and report on implementation progress
The candidate will:
Be part of the Security Department, but will also work directly with OpenVPN DevOps teams
Define and manage internal DevOps deployments of Information Security projects, workloads, and processes
Assist with workload migrations to Kubernetes
Automate processes with configuration management tools
Contribute to CI/CD pipeline initiatives
Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies that are relevant to improving the OpenVPN infrastructure
Work with monitoring tools to set up or improve services monitoring and alerts
Perform infrastructure security evaluations and improvements to ensure security standards are met
Support, maintain, and improve systems documentation, policies, and procedures

Experience building and defining DevOps orchestration and automation technologies including Kubernetes, Puppet, Ansible, and Docker
Extensive experience in Linux server operating systems
Strong experience in AWS services
Working knowledge of technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, AWS ECS, and EKS
Strong operational experience with one of the scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, Python
Experience in configuration management tools such as Puppet and Ansible
Experience in infrastructure as code such as Terraform
Experience working with ELK stack
Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
Strong networking and troubleshooting skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
DESIRED SKILLS
Experience working with large DevOps teams distributed across the world
Experience with key/value stores such as Consul, Vault
Experience in Kubernetes auto-scaling
Familiarity with Identity/Auth solutions such as Free IPA
Experience in PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases
Project management skills and/or PMP certification
Atlassian Suite familiarity
Experience deploying security controls required for frameworks such as SOC2.
Involvement with the Information Security community
Experience with horizontally scaled databases (CitusData, TimescaleDB)
