Security Operation Center (SOC) Cyber Threat Analyst (VP/Hybrid)

The SOC Cyber Threat Analyst is a senior analyst role within Cyber Threat team, part of Global Security Operation Center (SOC) which operate 24x7, follow the sun model. Cyber threat team plays an important role as the first line of defense, in charge of monitoring Citi’s environment globally through state-of-the-art security detections tools, responding to security events and escalating security incidents that have potential impact to Citi.Responsibilities:

• Performs validation, in-depth analysis, mitigation, escalation on escalated cyber security case/potential cyber security incident detected by Intrusion Detection/Prevention tools, anomaly detection systems, Firewalls, Antivirus and EDR systems, proxy devices, cloud security solution, data leakage prevention system which requires demonstrable security incident response experience.

• Handle BAU and high severity issues including escalating to other support groups. 

• Drive a continuous effort to improve SOC process and detection capability

• Execute adhoc tasks or lead projects where SOC involvement is needed.

• Holistic use case review and tuning to enhance monitoring value and efficiency.

• Lead person in handling threat incidents calls like DDoS calls and high severity cases.

• Participate in daily, ad-hoc conference calls as well as compliance & controls, self-assessment processes and documentation related tasks.

• Participate in cyber drill and support regulatory request.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of relevant experience

• Understand the life cycle of network threats, web attacks, attack vectors, and methods of exploitation

• Ability to conduct analysis utilizing various logs to identify unusual behavior that may indicate malicious activity

• Strong investigative mindset and analytical skills

• Curious and attentive to detail 

• A good team player, self driven and able to act as individual contributor

• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

• Proven influencing and relationship management skills

• Relevant cyber security certification is a bonus

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
