Security Engineer (f/m/x)

You understand that Information Security is critical to the success of any organization, in particular a FinTech!  You know that when Information Security is well designed and implemented it supports and enables business objectives.  You’ll be a strong technologist with a focus on InfoSec.   You’ll join a growing team and be responsible for the security of our computer systems & networks.  The focus of this role is detection and response.You will detect, investigate and prevent attacks to our technology systems.  You will also conduct assessments and analyze risks.  The role is highly collaborative, involving frequent interaction with various members of the technology teams.

What you will be doing:

• Continually evaluate the threat model of our people, process and technology and support the design of our threat detection
• Stay up-to-date with threat actors and their tools, tactics and procedures
• Support the analytics and detection in Security Incident Event Management (SIEM)
• Support the Security Operations Centre (SOC) with event triage and analysis
• Participating in red, blue & purple team engagements to improve incident detection & response
• Design honeypots and canaries to attract and detect attackers

You'll need to have:

• A few years behind you working in a similar role, ideally for a FinTech.
• Good knowledge of network security
• Cloud (AWS, Google GCP, Azure) understand security best practices and be confident with the ‘security related services’ in at least one of those cloud provider
• Kubernetes: at least understanding the deployment basics, ideally have a solid understanding of kubernetes security
• Scripting (bash, GO, Python, AWS Lambda)
• *NIX: good understanding
• Experience with ElasticSearch or common SIEMs and the Mitre Att&ck framework
• Excellent English skills in written & spoken
