Responsibilities include strategic customer and partner advocacy and support of strategic opportunities while closely following industry trends and insights to create technical strategy and product priorities. You will regularly evangelize Rackspace's strategy and vision as an industry leader while serving as a public spokesperson with customers and partners as well as producing content for various mediums such as blogs and podcasts.
On a day to day basis, you will:
- Build strong relationships with customer executives and technical leadership to identify pain points and opportunities to deliver value and then translate them into solutions from Rackspace.
- Work with a broad spectrum of customers, colleagues, and partners to help them understand the value proposition of Rackspace Professional Services and potential future opportunities.
- Act as a partner to both the relevant General Manager and Regional Partner to provide technical leadership, solution assurance and the bring together the best of Rackspace Professional Service delivery
- Lead architecture, design and engineering engagements to demonstrate how Rackspace meets the needs of strategic customers, including consultancy and advisory services, customer engineering and data services.
- Become a technical authority setting the technical standards and processes for your region and ensure that there is synergy with colleagues in other regions.
- Understand the business strategy of the customer and articulate how Rackspace can enable and deliver value to their organization, seamlessly integrating into their current and future technology landscape.
- Highlight architecture and engineering skills demand in the region that is well aligned with the sales opportunity pipeline and industry trends.
- Work with other regional leads in a highly collaborative operating model to help develop a joint technical strategy for Professional Services.
- Drive awareness around new tooling and options Cloud Native computing.
- Serve as a key member of the Professional Services Technical Leadership team in helping to define and deliver the joint solution set and supporting collateral.
- Provide insight to the EMEA Delivery Practice leads to drive training plans to ensure our people can be able serve the demands of the customers in your region
- Act as the senior technical QA on our most complex engagements
- Help to develop a strategic technical development plan for target markets and ensure it is in line with the Rackspace strategic direction
Skills & Experience:
- Deep technical knowledge and professional level certifications in one of AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Academic achiever with a passion for continuous learning. Ideally degree educated or can demonstrate strong work-based experience backed by professional qualifications.
- A technical leader that can create, manage, and prioritize initiatives while driving across teams for results.
- Solid communication skills having the ability to be both a strong technical writer as well as a dynamic public speaker.
- Demonstrated implementation of microservices, container and cloud-native application development.
- Strong understanding and experience of release engineering and continuous delivery process.
- Strong understanding of principles of DevOps and Continuous Delivery.
- High-level of comfort teaching complex concepts by breaking them down into easy-to-understand pieces.
- Passion for helping technologists connect people and communities through the cloud.
- Scripting and automation methods such as Terraform, Ansible, Bash, Cloud Formation.
- Software development experience with strength in one of Java, Golang or C#.
- Experience working in regulated environments (HIPAA, PCI, ITAR, etc)
- Experience building cloud automation, including CD/CI pipelines using technologies equivalent to Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Docker. Experience in these specific technologies is desirable. Including building and maintaining cloud-native applications.
- Network experience, aware of cloud network patterns such as Google VPC, network interconnect, subnets, peering, firewalls, etc...
- Strong communication skills, customer facing experience desirable.
- German language skills are required.

- Performance indicators – Personal Utilisation, Attached PS regional booked revenue with RTL support, Project Scope Governance (RTL involved projects)
- Quality indicators – Peer review, customer feedback and manager feedback
