What you'll do

• Partner with other teams and guide them to centralize and automate dependency management in Data Center
• Work with Data Center Core leadership and provide technical input for defining project scope and roadmap
• Handle scoping, design, estimation, and leading delivery of engineering projects that spans across multiple teams and departments
• Partner with principal engineers and architects from other teams and lead exploration of large-scale projects spanning multiple teams in Data Center
• Solve interesting, complex problems from technical design to launch
• Set the standard for meaningful code reviews
• Present your ideas to the Product teams, Business leadership, occasionally participate in Customer calls
• Report directly to the Engineering Manager

Your background

• 15+ years of experience in commercial Software Development
• Technical leader, able to pitch ideas and lead programs to trigger across multiple teams and departments
• Proficiency in Java or another JVM-based language, and typical Java tech stack and frameworks: Spring Framework, OSGi, Maven
• Success with designing and maintenance of systems with multiple dependencies
• Deep architectural understanding of web applications
• Deep understanding of and experience in cross-team collaboration in large-scale projects

• Jira DC Security Team mitigates the most complex vulnerabilities for Jira in the Data Center (on-prem) version, such as cross-site scripting or token forgery, with backend solutions built in Java.
• Platform DC Team delivers features reusable in almost all apps from our on-prem portfolio, such as Jira, Bamboo, Confluence, or Bitbucket. These days, one of the most important topics on our agenda is accessibility (a11y).
• The Guardians build enterprise Customers' trust by keeping their Jira instances operational. This includes a lot of investigative work and solving the most challenging issues our Customers might encounter. It combines Java development, bug-fixing, DevOps, and client interaction.
