Position Overview: We are expanding our team of motivated engineers with a proven track record of delivering a best in class DBaSS platform – ObjectRocket. You will have the opportunity to work with a strong team of engineers working on large-scale distributed enterprise systems. You will design, implement and support complex architectural design of hardware, software and networking systems.
Work Location: Work may be performed 100% remotely.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:•Technical point of escalation to the Cloud Support and Engineering teams; resolving customer issues, working in collaboration with partners across the business, as required•Lead cross-functional business continuity/transformational projects and customer engagements (both technical and non-technical), delivering key objectives for the Organization•Advise leadership in setting and executing technological strategy to ensure Rackspace remain head of industry•Proactively assess, propose, and implement enhancements to system architecture, problem management, fleet management, process improvement, reporting, product integration and customer infrastructure•Lead Workload/Workforce Management and Optimization related tasks•Review technical training for all Rackers supporting Rackspace Supported Cloud Products•Coach, mentor and assists Rackers across the business•Provide technical expertise underpinning communications targeting a range of stakeholders - from individual contributors to leaders across the business•Collaborate with Account Managers and Business Development Consultants to build strong customer relationships•Collaborate and share knowledge with other Engineers on the support floor•Other Incidental tasks related to the job, as necessary.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: · Advanced level of troubleshooting and implementation (end to end), Firewall, Routing/Switching, Load Balancer, Zscaler, and Cisco Wireless.· Security- In depth understanding of Firewalls – Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco ASA & Load Balancer–F5.· WAN- In depth understanding of WAN Protocols: BGP/OSPF/EIGRP/QoS/VPLS/MPLS, TCP/IP, and SDWAN.· LAN- In depth understanding of Layer2 & Layer 3 switching, hands on experience on Nexus, 6800, 6500, 4500, 3600, 3800 and Cat 9k series of switches. Should have knowledge of STP, Stacking, and VSS concepts.· WLAN- Good understanding of Cisco and Meraki Wireless: WLC, Lightweight and Standalone AP, Cisco Prime Infrastructure, and ISE.· Good working experience on Redundancy Protocols HSRP, VRRP GLBP, IPSLA and IP tracking· Ability to communicate orally and written in a professional manner· Strong analytical skills· Requires a thorough knowledge of networking essentials.· Experienced in a data center and or vendor environment with frontend interaction with customer.· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.· Capable of explaining simple procedures in writing or verbally and writing basic documentation· Flexible, open mind, self-motivated and reliable person· Being able to work independently and facing stress· Willing to propose ways to improve efficiency
Experience/Certification/Education:· At least 5+ year(s) of experience performing related duties · Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar.· Good written and verbal English skills· Preferred Certifications: CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE and ITIL.
Pay and Benefits: The following information is required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act and applies only to individuals working in the state of Colorado. The anticipated starting pay range of Colorado applicants for this role is $81,600- $105,800. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
