Network & Security Engineer

Role:

We are looking for a technologist within Recorded Future’s Business Operations Team. As a Network and Security Engineer, you will design and manage the internal and public-facing networks for the business (non-product related), such as firewalls, VPNs, local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and intranets. Installation of routers, switches, and any other hardware and software upgrades that are essential for the communication networks to function properly. The Engineer maintains and troubleshoots network systems and resolves and rectifies if any issues occur. Keeping in mind the security posture of the organization, the architect should always be prepared to design and implement security countermeasures, when network vulnerabilities arise. 

What you will do as a Network and Security Engineer:

• Network Design: The first and foremost duty is to build the networks by taking into consideration various factors like bandwidth requirements, infrastructure requirements, and security. The Engineer will plan and design in advance. The professional has to understand the data communication needs and come up with the best solutions to meet the requirements. 
• Network Security: This role will work closely with the security team to ensure all network security policies are configured, enforced, and auditable at all times.
• Networking Equipment Maintenance: It is the responsibility of the Engineer to manage and monitor the networking systems, and make the required adjustments and minor repairs to ensure that the systems operate smoothly. The Engineer should also take care of the scheduled maintenance on network systems to avoid any downtime due to networking issues.
• Documentation: The Engineer should maintain a proper record of the networks they design. The network documentation includes network drawings, text descriptions, and equipment configurations.
• Computer Networking Components: The Engineer must have good knowledge about networking components such as routers, firewalls, adaptors, switches, and servers. The professionals should keep themselves updated with all the latest developments related to these components.
• Communication Systems: It is essential for the Engineer to have an in-depth understanding of communication technologies like wireless, mobile applications, and telecommunications systems

What you will bring to the Network and Security Engineer role:

• BS in the technical field or related experience
• 5 + Years of experience Managing network infrastructure, including Networking protocols, Security, Firewalls, wireless access points, TCP/IP, LANs, and WANs is a must-have
• Available to work on-site in Somerville, MA and Travel Globally up to 25% is a must-have
• Energetic and can-do attitude towards creating the best possible experience for our employees
• Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively within a highly dynamic and demanding environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills
• Desire to learn new technologies and grow within the technology organization
• Experience with Virtualization infrastructure is a plus
