Role: Manager – Cloud Database Services Delivery  Overview   We are expanding our team of motivated technologists with a proven track record of delivering results in delivering services to our customers. Specifically looking for a Highly skilled and motivated Cloud Database Delivery Manager to join our dynamic team. As a Cloud Database Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the cloud-based database systems for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, cloud technologies, and data management principles. Being an experienced technologist with technical depth and breadth, aided with strong interpersonal skills, you will work directly with customers as part of a professional services delivery team, helping to enable innovation through continuous delivery across Cloud Database technology stacks and provide 24x7 managed services. You will be responsible for a team of our cloud Database engineers (CDE’s), Cloud Database architects (CDA’s) and Database administrators (CDAs), to mentor, develop them and deliver services to our customers. The qualified Cloud Database Services Delivery manager will have demonstrated the ability to think strategically about businesses, create technical definitions around customer objectives in complex situations, develop solution and delivery strategies, motivate & mobilize resources, and deliver results. Strong communication skills are a must to help develop a team reporting to you.    Requirements:-      Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are necessary.-      Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role, with a focus on cloud-based databases (e.g., Amazon RDS, Microsoft Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).-      Proven experience in database modernization initiatives, specifically migrating from on-premises database systems to cloud-native database technologies. Ability to assess existing database environments, develop migration strategies, and execute the migration process while minimizing downtime and ensuring data integrity.-      Demonstrated experience in providing managed services for cloud-based databases. Proven ability to work with clients or internal stakeholders to understand their database requirements, develop service level agreements (SLAs), and deliver high-quality managed database solutions.-      Strong familiarity with cloud-native database technologies, such as Amazon Aurora, Google Cloud Spanner, or Azure Cosmos DB. Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing databases using these technologies to leverage their unique capabilities, including scalability, high availability, and automatic backups.-      Experience in defining and monitoring performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for managed database services. Ability to generate regular reports, analyze trends, and provide continuous improvement and optimization recommendations.-      Proficiency in managing database-related incidents and problems. Experience in leading incident response teams, performing root cause analysis, and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurring issues. Familiarity with IT service management frameworks like ITIL is a plus.-      Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and database concepts (e.g., normalization, indexing, replication).-      Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud database services.-      Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages for automating database tasks (e.g., Python, PowerShell).-      Familiarity with database security principles and practices, including access control, encryption, and auditing.-      Experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting database performance issues.-      Solid understanding of backup and recovery procedures and disaster recovery planning.-      Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.-      Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. About Rackspace TechnologyWe are the multicloud solutions experts.
